I can still remember going on this when it was just a year old back in 2002 and Inferno was being constructed. Needless to say, it was the park's scariest ride by far back then!

loving these soundtracks, also one thing i have discovered is from the 12 min mark to the 18 min mark the stereo mixing messes up, the left ear is fine but the right is super glitchy and crackly, not sure if this is how the music is or a problem with the mix

Hi Cameron, This was how it was made to work/sound with the then-used sound system around Detonator. When you go on it today, the queue has these massive Bose speakers above your head which play the background audio coming from the rest of Angry Birds and works independently to the ones used around the tower which play the countdown. However, this was not the case originally. When Detonator was brand new, there was a single track playing across the entire ride, which is the “main track”. It was set up so that when the seats were risen, the entire area, queue and platform played the countdown at once so everyone knew when to expect it to drop. Once it had fallen, a queue announcement was made (hence the right speaker) informing guests about the safety announcements after every drop. This same method was used on a few other rides such as Vortex and Slammer. If you listen to the original announcements for those rides, it has the same stereo effect. Vortex’s theme used to play on the ride as well as in the queue at the same time, but obviously no longer does anymore sadly.

Detonator is a perfect mix of a fantastic and genuinely thrilling ride, it honestly has such a good soundtrack. It fits the ride and does give some tension. Especially with the countdown. Also just wondering, if you are able to find it anywhere, would you be able to find the music that is played on detonator as of this year? (I think its some sort of stock track that plays on it this year(

detonator came before scream and when scream was new they just used detonator’s audio for scream
