The best art is often created behind closed doors.
Together with renowned musicians, Thorsten Quaeschning of Tangerine Dream welcomes you to a series of musical evenings (Mondays and Thursdays) of a most special kind: In collaboration with his guests, Quaeschning concocts real-time compositions for the distant eyes and ears of the audience, carrying them off into a unique world of sound far away from nights of monotonous entertainment.
The setup in front of the grand, but empty stage at ufaFabrik Berlin as well as the technically elaborate execution allow the audience to experience an extraordinary concert without having to leave the privacy of their homes. Quaeschning and his team make use of the exceptional composer's extensive collection of equipment - and more.
Creatively, all bets are off: The Picture Palace Music-founder promises to go "wherever the music takes us".

MFP Concerts präsentiert:
Manchmal entstehen hinter verschlossenen Türen die besten Werke. Gemeinsam mit namhaften Musikerinnen und Musikern bittet Thorsten Quaeschning von Tangerine Dream zu einer Reihe von Musikabenden (montags und donnerstags) der besonderen Art:
In Zusammenarbeit mit seinen Gästen lässt Quaeschning vor den weit entfernten Augen und Ohren des Publikums Echtzeit-Kompositionen entstehen, die in einzigartige Klangwelten fernab von monotoner Abendunterhaltung entführen.
Das Setup vor der leeren Bühne des großen Theatersaals der Berliner ufaFabrik sowie die technisch aufwändige Umsetzung erlauben dem Publikum das Erlebnis eines außergewöhnlichen Konzertbesuchs, ohne die eigenen vier Wände verlassen zu müssen.
Quaeschning und Team fahren dabei alles an Equipment auf, was der Fundus des Ausnahmekomponisten hergibt - und mehr.
Inhaltlich darf man gespannt bleiben:
Laut dem Picture Palace Music-Schöpfer geht es „dorthin, wohin uns die Musik trägt“.

Thorsten Quaeschning, I have been a fan of Tangerine Dream since I first heard ‘Stratosphere’ when I bought the LP in my teens when it was released. I have been floating on the waves of their music since, getting taken into cosmic realms of the imagination through sonic sounds, sequences, rhythms and music. When you took on the task of keeping the group going through the quantum years you have done so splendidly. Edgar Froese (RIP) would be so proud of the gift of your musical creations you share with us all. This piece with Schiller is wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing it free with the world to enjoy in these strange days.

Ich war nach dem Tod von Edgar Froese der Meinung TD dürfte nicht weitergehen, weil eben der Mastermind von TD fehlt. Aber es gibt eine Nachfolge namens Thorsten Quaesching der diese Lücke schließt und genauso tolle Musik macht. Ich freue mich schon auf neue Sachen von TD. Der Geist von Edgar lebt weiterhin bei TD und trotzdem geht die Band neue Wege wie immer bei TD. Und Christopher und Thorsten, wenn die mal eine ganze CD herausbringen wäre das sicher ein Meilenstein in der EM.

Well it’s actually Paul Frick and it’s been made official! Would have been great to have Christopher as a new TD member but he is big enough in his own right with Schiller! I would definitely have recommended Anna -Maria Van Heusel after watching her session the other day as a new TD member... Now that would have put the band into new territory...!!!

Hallo Christopher, hallo Thorsten, immer wenn ich Eure Musik höre (und mit fast 50 tue ich das schon seid vielen Jahrzehnten...) kommt immer wieder der Gedanke nach besonderen OpenAir Live Events an Orten, wo diese Musik passt. Hier meine beiden Vorschläge: für Sunset Stile Titel ist das „Café Sorgenfrei“ am Südstrand auf Fehmarn ein MUSS. Dort wird heute schon bis zum Sonnenuntergang ähnliches als Untermalung im Hintergrund gespielt und man sitzt mit Kühlen Getränk draußen, sieht sich den atemberaubenden Sonnenuntergang zusammen mit den heimfahrenden Segelbooten an. Alles ist ruhig, alle sind zufrieden, sorgenfrei eben....das wäre etwas im Stile MTV unplugged, auch von der Größe her. Vorschlag 2: Mallorca, Cala Ratjada, Tauchschule Mero Diving mit Restaurant Nähe der Cala Agulla. Sie ist in einem Felsen eingelassen, somit nur in eine Richtung offen zum Meer, sonst rundherum Felsig ansteigend. Ideal für Licht/Lasereffekte. Die Bühne müsste als Plattform aufs Wasser und quasi vor der Tauchschule festmachen. Publikum dann am Festland Tauchschule/Restaurant/Felsen/Zuwegung. Hier darf der Style schon etwas dramatischer sein rhythmischer sein wie ich finde. Meldet Euch, wenn ich helfen kann.... ;)
