I say, Thor has one of the biggest potentials to be, the strongest character in fiction or at last one of the strongest, but that ain't what he's all about, his worthiness, his nobility, his heroism much like Superman, his differences from other strong characters, the way he thinks or talks, unlike what they did to him in the MCU, which there isn't really a different between him and another character, excluding his strenght. Tho, i do not see this cycle of rebooting Thor again, and again, relearning what he learned before, even by a different way, it is why i believe it's wrong for us to keep hanging on to this characters, their arcs never finish, and they keep repeating themselves again and again, but it is not impossible to let go of a character, as Barry Allen died and stayed dead many years, Wally took his place, and Barry's arc was over, with a great sacrifice even Marvel referenced, but of course had to bring back.. At least Spider-Man is one of those that should have their story end, they have kicked, punched, spitted on him for many years, and we know they have much less stories to tell of him, so letting him go i see, would be much better then these bad stories they keep making of him, even if i myself am tired of so many Miles stuff.

So, El wing is retconning Thor's origin maybe through Loki, which seems very good idea by the way..... And maybe he is also exploring Loki though..... Let's see what happens in next issues, and how El wing explore Thor and shows us....

0:17 it depends how long ago that tale was. I remember looking up those Roy Thomas, John Buscema and Tom Palmer issues back when comics for $.35 or so. it’s a relative long time in real terms. In other words, he reflected on these tales relatively recently.

Al Ewing is one of the best writers for Marvel. He’s underrated and needs to stay away from anything to do with a mutant. But otherwise, he crafts his tales very well.

Its sad wht Marvel has done to ODIN. Thor should remain AllFather, but ODIN needs to b brought back to relevance. Id love to see ODIN redeem himself by becoming a hero for earth/midgard. ODIN wielding GUNGNIR as a modern day Avenger & defeating SuperVillains would b coo af.

I’d prefer him as more of a behind the scenes mover in his own series. Odin is very different from Thor, so I think his version of heroism would be different as well. Like him wandering the universe in disguise (like in the myths) interfering secretly with big events for the greater good. Maybe one empire starts to set its sights on Asgard, so Odin secretly pits another empire against them. Maybe he could become a hero of earth, but mostly so he can get Sentry or someone to die in battle so they go to Valhalla and be part of his army.

16:59 Are they attempting to make Loki more in line with his new role in the Disney+ series?
@malcomalexander943711 ай бұрын
Other way around. Loki was god of stories before the show.

Perhaps I will renew my subscription. I canceled it last yesr after 20 years of continuous subscription. Writing has shown steady decline with the unworthy debacle. The much hyped Cates run was lack luster at best. Perhaps I will roll the dice again. Seems like a story worth reading again. Great video

I wonder if Uller's true parents are the Utgard-Thor and Utgard-Sif...in other words Toranos and Gaea...?
@clumsylemon43011 ай бұрын
I can see Gaea doing that. She is Zeus' granny after all
@ThorTalk11 ай бұрын
Very interesting theory. Could definitely be the case. Sif is probably the closest to an earth goddess of the Æsir in Norse Mythology with her golden hair being a possible stand in for golden wheat. Though if this does happen, I wonder if Toranos will still be his stepfather or if they’ll simply things by making him Ullr’s biological father
@louisvictor347310 ай бұрын
@@ThorTalk The norse earth goddess would be Thor's mom Jörð (pretty much getmanic Gaia/Terra). Sif would be more like Demeter, also associates with the earth, but more in terms of its properties as fertile soil and to harvest (hence the wheat association) rather than a earth goddess.
@ThorTalk10 ай бұрын
@@louisvictor3473 I was excluding Jǫrð since she’s usually considered a Jotun, but I forgot that Snorri does count her as a goddess (though Snorri is always hit or miss as a source). Regardless I think Sif is close enough to an earth goddess to the point that Gaea could be called the Utgard-Sif in Marvel, especially since Jǫrð is just another name for Gaea in Marvel and not a separate entity
@louisvictor347310 ай бұрын
@@ThorTalk Why thiugh? Jotun, aesir, vanir, they're pretty much one class of being, they are all gods. Their division is more of a politicial/cultural one and a bunch of modernish misconceptions influenced by bad cross religious analysis, but let's not get into that.

As All father he could easily deprive people like Loki and the enchantress of their powers just like Odin used to... just saying
