Those legendary E-MU Emulator 3 Orchestral bank - does it still sound good 30 years on? no talking

In the mid 80s E-MU released the Emulator series samplers which changed music forever.
The E-MU sampler is a very capable synth in its own right and has features and filters not available on machines built by their competitors.
This soundbank was used on many hit records in the 80s and 90s and was released for the E3, ESI and proteus 2 modules.
This is every sound from the 1.9mb bank played on my ESI4000 with lexicon reverb added from my soundcraft desk to sweeten it up a bit.

Some sounds are so special and still have funktion in alla kind of music. And for Orchestra its great if you do not have a very good live orcestra orcestra in your room....but specific sounds are unique in its own emu are still magic

They were actually the orchestra on loads of 80s recordings. They still sound great in my opinion

These are beautiful sounds and I am so glad to have grown up with them as a child. I believe they were also used in My Neighbor Totoro and The Princess Bride? And these sounds would of course later be carried on to the E-mu Proteus 2 in 1990. EDIT: Never mind, Princess Bride actually used the Synclavier and a little bit of the Emulator II. I dunno about My Neighbor Totoro tho. Some parts are from a traditional orchestra, and some is synthetic. They could have used a certain Emulator or the Synclavier. EDIT 2: Found out on Wikipedia that Totoro used the Fairlight CMI.
