As a Floridian, this doesn't happen too often lol. There was only one time I've fell in the water and there happened to be an Alligator like 20 feet away 😅 most of the time they just keep to themselves though

As a Louisianian, though ima assume they’re in Florida, you can literally only swim in designated areas 😂😂😂. Gators are usually cool tho & wont attack unless you begin to move like prey in the water. They’ll usually just bite you up to kill you. Hardly ever do they actually swallow you.

It’s got a wide nose, so I believe it’s an alligator. Croc snouts are narrower. Both live in Florida and the gulf coast, though.

I went water skiing in a lake near Tampa that the Cypress (Something?) Water Park trained in daily. Thinking it was surely safe cause they used it. NOT! I found out later MANY lived in that lake. Maybe that was extra incentive to not fall - for the girls stood on triple decker shoulders while skiing! The problem is people who live in FL get a false sense of security as time goes by with no gator attacks. It’s just a matter of time. In the 70’s there was a gator that got a young swimmer in Oscar Shear State Park near Sarasota. It was devastating. Her father saw she was pulled under & jumped in to save her. All he could get a hold of was her long hair. He pulled. The gator pulled. Then she was gone! They hunted it down killing many gators to find the one with her remains in its belly. Her rings were returned to the parents. So very very sad. Scared us all for a long time. Then years later darned if I didn’t go tubing down Horse Creek in FL when a young but very real gator slid into the water near me! I yelled “Gator” and walked - RAN on water! If you ever go to or in FL’s wildlife habitats always keep your head on a swivel. Better yet, DON’T- just swim in a pool.
