Our first time ever stealth van camping in London. We chose to head to the incredibly whacky and a little creepy in places: Hampstead Heath.

Apparently in the 50’s during the filming of The African Queen parakeets escaped the london film set.Jimi Hendrix also released two mating Parakeets in London back in the 60’s so this is maybe how they came to end up in the south of England 😀

Mick Jones from The Clash was playing with his band in Dublin in 2008 and I LOVE The Clash, so I waited for them to come for sound rehearsals to try and meet him. Long story short, he invited me in for the whole sound rehearsal and to hang out with himself and the band until the gig began. Then, he left myself and my mate free tickets to see himself and Paul Siminon play with Gorillaz in the o2 arena and invited us backstage to hang out with the band after. I love you Mick. Stellar guy.

Great episode. My best friend's husband is related to J M Barrie. They have all his first editions. I didn't realise how much he wrote until I saw them all together. Nice to see different parts of London, when normally it would be Buckingham Palace, Harrods etc. Shame about the weather, but now you know you can go back in another season and stay again. I didn't think there would be anywhere to park for free. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. Stay safe and happy travels xx

Hello Mr and Mrs Day, great video , you've picked a lovely part of London, so much history is there. I used to do deliveries in Hampstead Heath and I've seen the back of Johnathan Ross head and Ricky Gervais crossed the zebra crossing in front of me just up the hill from snappy snaps. Sigmund Freud's house is down the main road hill towards Belize park which is near where Liam Gallagher lives. Shame about the ulez charge every day, rip off. Safe travels.

great video not sure if you are aware Carl Marks is buried in Highgate Cemetery among lots of other famous people. Dick Wittington storey is linked to Highgate Hill. Rod Stuart is around Highgate as well

Great video there are some great quiet streets which are great for stealth camping in Hampstead particularly at weekends where the parking restrictions end at 13.15 on a Saturday through till 8.30 on a Monday morning. The only downside is the ULEZ so you need a Euro6 van or electric.

Yeah, London’s a real mix. I love listening to the parakeets. I remember when we first started hearing them quite a few years ago now. Their numbers have grown enormously. The only downside is that they’re extremely territorial so the sparrow numbers are much lower than they used to be. If I remember right, I was in a park near Croydon when I first heard them. Strangely, on that same day, and in that same park, my friend and I saw a pair of much bigger red parrots with either blue or yellow chest feathers. Can’t remember. Long time ago now. Glad you had such a grand time here. Stay warm. Stay happy 🫶🏻

Used to live down the road from there years ago there are some great pubs there, they are like country pubs, the Hollybush, Spaniards Inn and The Old White Bear they are all lovely tucked away in the tiny back streets of Hampstead. Its really pretty there! Love Hampstead plus the Heath is amazing have fun guys xx

We liked Crystal Palace camp site. Right in the heart of the town. It has has great independent bars and shops. Camp site is wonderful, similar to Abbey Wood. Great Views of the city and its parks are great too. Brixton and Dulwich close by. Hope you can explore more of the South next time. But London is an epic city, there’s so much to it and it keeps changing. We are now lucky to live in West London on the Elizabeth Line and that is a great benefit too. And we are still trying to get to know it more. So many green spaces too. See you next time. Safe travels. 😊

Great video as always. Guys .glad you exploring London. It really is a magnificent City. So many places to visit.we have had some really great times in London we parked and got our bikes and rode everywhere and at this time the tour de France was there we rode behind Also we would go out around central London pub crawl and get taxi back to lovely posh road. Get dropped then walk along to our van. Funny times. Don't know if you know.all the museum in London are free. And they are fantastic. The science museum in Kensington. Is amazing. Beautiful place.also the British museum. Also national art gallery. Tate modern art gallery Notting hill and Portobello road. Are great to visit to.hope you go back to London there are so many places to see.. if you don't want to pay the charges. Park out side the zones and tube in. you can get a Oyster card.

This old Londoner is very glad you were pleasantly surprised by London, Liam. I lived in Hampstead among the rich and famous back in the 70s. I was neither rich nor famous. It was just a nice, safe place to live and an easy tube ride to work each day. Funnily enough, at the time my (musician) boyfriend lived in Erith, next door to Abbey Wood, and I have to say back then we would never have put Abbey Wood and glamping into the same sentence! Love your vlogs - these days I live in Sydney, Oz, but I really enjoy vids about England. 😀

Another lovely blog. I haven’t been to London for so long (aside from a hospital appt - but that doesn’t count 😉) It’s a lot different from Scotland, I loved the hustle and bustle and caught a show. I was very young but remember to this day, how incredible it was. You managed to show a quieter side to London too, which is steeped in history. I am glad you had such a great time.
