I was just listening to a live worship (it's Sunday) and though I won't take issue, this phrasing from Psalms, "for Thou O Lord, are a shield for me" was part of the lyric they sang. It's just that what is featured through this classic allows for a mighty individual testimony as the collective body of the church all sing and proclaim together. It's just something that compels one to hear the WORD/Scripture given in the very Bible brought to church every Sunday. I am sorry I can't explain this very well. But, it allows for a more collective than just the worship team on the stage. This song allows for leading the congregation and providing a pursuit of how the scriptures feature the Promises of our GOD and His power through faith to encourage and know that He is near and that those who choose can rejoice in that.

I remember walking into that small building for the 1st time ever many years ago. The world outside in chaos and disturbance everywhere. Stressed and tired, all the peoples without a smile in their faces, worried and tired. There was sadness all around, people fighting one another like enemies made of blood and flesh... yeah, kind of like what we're seeing today... but in that little place. That little building their people called church. "What is wrong with this people? They're going crazy!" I said. I didn't understand. They were really crazy people in there, dancing, smiling, rejoicing and praising on with this music, something I have never seen before. I felt that happiness. I saw a few smiling while dancing and singing. This was real love. I was trying to hold back my tears... "why would I cry on front of this people I don't even know!" I said... I had to walk out for a minute... then I went back in... "wow these people are really crazy! I said, but I was already smiling with them. It was something so beautiful made by and of simple people. No high heels, no much makeup, no minis or broken jeans, no new crazy fashion, no arrogance or competition of any kind. Just love, respect and happiness... and I felt it. It was real and it felt good 😢 I wanted it... There were tears of joy... this thing was real, his presence was real... God most be real! 😎 Oh church of God, what's happened to you? Where did you go? Who have you been listening to? When did you stop? You need to go back to the core and principles of the one true God so you can't be deceit. Let the rejoice be heard again. Let the crazy dance with love again. Let the church be real... Let God arise among us all. Let the righteous declare... for God is victory and the earth shall stand and see that He Is God 🤗 Christ is He 🙏

I see the question that asks why is this music being no longer in the church. Think just a bit. These songs are taken directly from scripture and the enemy wanted to quash the WORD. THIS is how we know so many scriptures because WE SANG THEM OVER AND OVER until they became part of our being, thinking and behavior. I'm not saying present day music is useful but there is little scripture in them but concepts that are true but dont fill us with His Word. I believe God is bringing it back into the body for there is a "famine of My Word" in the land. Sing it at home a pray for restoration of the WORD to the church and no longer teach the "tickling" words that bring no change to lives that hear. THE WORD OBEYED CHANGES, TRANSFORMS lives.

Yes, the reverse is potentially true too. In that as they have the tendency these days to do away with bible teachings or throw that away completely as "old school", those lifegiving words are not coming to the fore and flowing out naturally in their new written songs / worship team's creativity. And the young are not being fed correctly. Eg It is not just a book of law only that grace/Jesus has done away with (the truth is: the fact remains Jesus fulfilled the essential requirements of it all, not rejected it). Teachings to follow Him in His footsteps is straightforward. But it's all been made too painfully complex with RC priestly like mediation systems not as per the bible (Jesus having been the Word made flesh, stands the Only Mediator we need before Father God) and is just therefore just plain wrong / untrue -- this being a Faith matter; not up for socio political wrangle. We (saved children submitted to our Heavenly God) have direct access by the power of His broken body and shed blood that delivered us unto salvation period; the punishment for ALL sins and since Adam & Eve first of His created humans, all have been born in sin, all fallen short of His standard of perfection to start with. That's it. And I/we shall celebrate that and proclaim the invite to all to come know Him who lives and is a good Loving God as already proven at His provisions at the CROSS, none other can compare.. One need only come to Him in true humility (recognition of what creatures we are and Who He is our creator and the Living God above All things in heaven and on earth; as sure as there is gravity).
