Thoughts on Enhancement Shaman Leveling in Wrath of the Lich King Classic

As someone who is raid bis from fresh server, rush improved fire nova and fire nova glyph if you are doing dungeon leveling. Which means you are technically ele, but use water shield to get hit by things in melee range to get more mana. it is without a doubt the strongest aoe build in the entire game for 50 levels or more. Go regular enhancement tree if you are just doing questing. Tl;dr Dungeons: improved fire nova talent and fire nova glyph Questing: Regular enhance tree

Just leveled from 1 and just hit lvl 71 today. I took glyph of flametounge weapon and fire nova. You can aoe using searing totem and fire nova till you get magma totem. Twisting water sheild and lightning sheild makes you alot more mana efficient. Once you get stormstrike lava lash and shamanistic rage it becomes really fun. Just got my spirit wolves and fire elemental and man you can pump some serious damage. Just did a nexus run with 4 lvl 74's. I was 4 lvls lower and on the last boss i did more dps then the other two dps and tank combine! Enhance is one of the most fun specs in the game, and i highly recommend playing it.

I would highly recommend leveling as elemental until at least 40 *even if* you enjoy the enhancement playstyle. Improved Fire Nova and Glyph of Fire Nova combined with Searing Totem and Magma totem is your best dps while questing vs both single target and aoe, which makes it extremely strong and versatile. Enhancement has basically no important/good talents until you get Stormstrike at 40, so you should really, really not build enh until then no matter how much you want to melee.

The important talents would be Call of Flame and Improved Fire Nova along with Glyph of Fire Nova. At level 26, then, you are able to pull any number of mobs and nuke them down as fast as possible with a fire totem and spamming Fire Nova. Using a two-handed heirloom like Repurposed Lava Dredger also benefits you in two ways. 1. You can just sit near your fire totems instead of trying to kite mobs to them or constantly re-place them and 2. You don't have to spam LB casts so you're never affected by pushback as Fire Nova is instant-cast. From levels 25/26 to basically outland at 59 there is no faster way to level. At that point Elemental is still wildly faster, but the playstyle changes to basic LB spam.@@BullRed07

This is my first time playing world of warcraft period and i’m starting with wrath of the lich king. do you recommend enhancement shaman to a beginner?

Welcome to the game! I think that it may not be as easy and a hunter or mage starting out but I don't think it would be a terrible choice to start with either. The good thing too is that with Shaman if you find yourself not liking enhancement do to it being a melee specialization you can always swap to elemental to be a ranged dps or resto if you want to try out healing. I think a fun part of starting out in WoW is also just trying out the different classes. When I started out I tried quite a few different things before I settled in and leveled one class to max level.

@@xunnithanks for the advice!! enhancement shaman seems so interesting and entertaining for me. Ive done my fair share of trying out different classes Im perfectly fine with the difficulty trade-off if the alternatives are classes like hunter or mage. Your vids will come in clutch during my levelling experience!

@@keynight7513 Currently playing enhance myself. It is very high apm compared to some other classes, but not as niche as feral druids. It's definetly a top 3 spec in difficulty. It's fun though. BUT! Pick whatever class You want. You shouldn't restrict yourself.

just used my boost on a shammy alt, do we care more about attack power gear or spell power while leveling? trying to decide on my heirlooms

I used a mixture of both while leveling based on what I could find. Generally I think Attack Power is more valuable because it does convert to Spell Power thanks to the Mental Quickness talent so I would go with Attack Power heirlooms
