I went on a short term mission. It didn't go that well for me. My performance was hindered by the humidity.

He is right. Americans like to go on mission trips so they can travel to another country. If you don’t have a skill to bring then you don’t have anything to offer. Spending $2,000 to dig a well when you can pay a local digger $200 doesn’t make sense. If you are not interested in missions, then you should probably not spend thousands for a two weeks vacation.
