9:52 This month made 1 year of giving my life to Christ. And while i believe understanding the Bible in depth, by using commentary, sermons, etc. is something helpful along the way. It’s something that I would not wholly recommend for new believers. I took that deep dive and it was beautiful but also overwhelming bc the Bible contains so much. As i go into year two, I’m allowing myself to be an infant under our Fathers wing. Reflecting what that relationship looks like today in our family structures. An infant is just basking in all the love that it’s dad has to give to them, while also familiarizing the smell and voice of their father. We may not know exactly what our Father is saying but we need a foundational space in where we open up to receive love, familiarize ourselves with His word, and grow to know his voice without the thoughts, notes, interpretations of others. Just getting to know our Father. Just reading, no pressure. This doesn’t mean we are not to pursue the word through sermons or Bible studies, there’s time for that. But heavy on being an infant, and allowing people to be in their infancy in Christ stage ❤️ it’s foundational.

hey! so i sort of get what ur saying here, and what ill say to this is to be weary of focusing too much on the infancy part on ur walk. definitely don’t bask in that too much because Paul speaks a lot about the importance of growing from the infant like babe like place in Christ. 1 Peter 2:2, 1 Corinthians 3:1, and 1 Corinthians 14:20. To continue being spiritually minded and filled we MUST grow not become comfortable in the stage we are at. to better walk in the spirit we need to understand the spirit of God by full digesting his Word. and u can’t do that by just reading it casually. just some food for thought! thank you for this comment !💗💗💗💗 i def understand tho growing that personal relationship with God is treasurable and intimate so basking in it amazing! but we want to always keep our focus on GROWING in Him. Also CONGRATS ON UR 1 YEAR🎉💗💗💗

@@journeywithkiki oh yes, i agree with you! We can’t remain in infancy forever but this is advice for new believers. Those infant years build our firm foundation, trust, familiarity, secure attachment, knowledge of who our Father is and all His ways, etc. This is to not say that there will not be times where God will call you to sit and meditate on his word, but when we skip the foundational step we can become shaky, stumble, and fall when trying to run before we crawl. And when i say reading it’s more intentional than a casual read. It’s finding answers to “Who are You?” “Who do You say I am?” “What are Your promises” “What are your commands for me?” “What miracles have you done?” Etc. Infancy is a foundational and equally important part of our development. It is why we are born and develop the way we do as humans. Infancy is a preparatory stage where God literally doesn’t allow us to stay forever. We serve a God of order ❤️

The pressure of becoming a theologian of the word keeps so many Bibles shut. We need freedom from that and belief that the Word and God alone will be sufficient in the season of infancy ❤️

@@earth2kvy i get that to a degree fs, but we alllll need guidance, some of us are more wise than others maturity wise in Christ. the gifts that God has given ppl to easily break down the Bible for all of us who need it I believe we should with thankful and grateful hearts utilize those resources God blessed us with. we never want to leave space for our own understandings to slip in and let our emotions overtake it all bc our emotions lie to us a lottt. Gods Word never does. don’t let commentaries intimidate u! they were made literally to do the opposite! never lean into ur own understanding ESPECIALLY being an infant in Christ lol💗💗💗💗💗
