So if a princess inherits the throne and marries her husband is prince while she's the queen. If a prince inherits and marries, his wife still gets to he queen while he is the king. I don’t know what that's called, rule or law, but that's how it works apparently. It would be interesting if arranged marriage were to become an episode theme though...

Maria, actually, I don't think Mewni follows any of our Earth's rules like that. Remember, Moon Butterfly is the queen, and inherited the castle, while River is from another family yet is still king.

its still a "king" but Mewni is a matriarchy, no matter what the queen (female heir to the throne) is always in charge because they get their legitimacy and their right to rule by magic (The wand and their natural magic) and not by "The grace of God" or something like what we had going on here on Earth during the middle ages.
