Isn't almond oil prone to rancid??

Some of the softer woods such as maple and pearwood are paraffin impregnated. Does this change your oiling recommendations?

Actually, it doesn't because over time, the paraffin will gradually make place for the oil which, in my view protects the wood much better than paraffin. The factories do claim that these instruments don't need any oiling, but in my experience they do fair way better with the oil! Hope this helps...
