I, personally, am entirely on favor of everybody going back to making content away from the community & never returning to a tournament setting. Did Nairo get sexuality assaulted? Maybe. Does that mean he couldn't have put a stop to everything? Absolutely not. Did ZeRo grossly fuck up a long time ago? Yes. Does he deserve to have his career ruined? No. The hypocrisy is... exhausting. TOs & top players need to hold everyone to the same standard; top players shouldn't be the ones pulling all the strings. I still care about what's going on. Not because of the community, not because I like any of these people (I do, but that's not the point) but because... I want to compete. I have for awhile. &, Unfortunately, competing means that dealing with all of this, at least to a certain degree. I respect your decision to back out from all this. I don't blame you. I'll keep watching what you make because it's genuinely good content. Take care.

You're definitely right about this. It makes me angry that no notable people in the community are willing to talk about this. All everyone is doing is staying mute. So many figureheads have huge platforms and don't use them to talk about these issues. Many people dislike Technicals, but at least he's actually talking about issues that persist in this community. I'm just so sad. I was a former Naifu and it felt so raw someone I appreciated being ripped from me because of actions he took. I was way too eager to accept him and being burned again is a really bad feeling. Fool me twice shame on me. I'm emotionally detactching myself from the Smash community. I'm working on scrubbing Smash content from my recommendations because I genuinely can't look at them while being reminded of the things they excuse. Nobody wins in this situation. While I agree that it is hypocritical that Nairo gets a pass and zero doesn’t, I find it unacceptable that zero is denying his confession under emotional distress. He already acknowledged his own faults in the situation with Katie and now he’s walking his confession back which is cowardly. No one can stop Nairo or Zero from making content. However, from my understanding, neither of them want to compete in tournaments anyway

Zero is not denying his confession, he’s denying _parts_ of his confessions. That’s an important distinction. Since he wasn’t planning on living he confessed to things he didn’t do, and now he has to fix that. The stuff regarding Jisu, the hate campaign she advocated, he’s fighting against. Anything regarding the situation with Katie is unchanged.

Zero didn’t apologize to his fans for what he did in his recent video. Instead, he talks about events that are irrelevant to his guilt regarding Katie. Also, the suicide note remark seems like an excuse. His 2nd twitlonger outlines his responses to his accusers. He literally confessed that he was wrong regarding Katie. The 3rd twitlonger is him confessing to the accusations regarding Katie

@@481ist He didn't deny what he did to Katie, but from the document I read from Jisu, not only did Katie wait until waaaay later in the conversation to reveal her age, but ZeRo was trying to break off the conversation with her after finding out. Was it still weird, yes. If anything, though, it was a planned attack rather than a cry for justice as tons of fabricated evidence was brought up out of context and aimed it at the worst possible time. It was done to a couple of other people in the community too, like Anti. It was furthermore into coercion whether than being a controlled confession. They all are responsible for that mess.

Hugely agree with this viewpoint. Recently a tournament made a post about letting nairo play there, and their criteria was that it was ok because they let him play a few sets and it didn't seem to cause any problems.

I was worried till you said Zero too- glad you said that he doesn't deserve the glory of the tournies. Same with Nairo. Whenever i see his main, i feel sickened. That's how deep my brain despises that feeling he gave me. I used to look for his name in the title of smash videos, and i even talked about some of his games to my younger brother. We both saw the rise and fall of Zero. We both saw the rise and fall of Nairo too but theres something about being "fooled by your heros- twice" It's hard for me to even watch smash w/o thinking of child exploitation and how uncanny valley the community feels as a whole.

When I saw Technical's video on ZeRo, I left both agreeing with a lot of the false stuff he brought to life but also still not really sure if I could watch ZeRo again. It didn't feel right. Same with Nairo. Clips from streams came into my recommended and watching them didn't feel right. I do not want ZeRo or Nairo near a tournament and don't plan on watching any of their content. They can come back if they want, good for them. I just don't want anything to do with them. That's just my thoughts. Feel free to disagree. I've already made up my mind

Recently Zero made an other video answering the questions of people on the aftermath and yeah he pretty much confirmed that not a lot of people in the smash community were actually friends with him so now they're just being more clear on that... However I'm glad he doesn't want to go to any tournament settings anymore, not because I think he deserve it or not, but because I think competitive Smash is a really toxic environment :/. Apparently that's even part of the reason why he didn't go to tournaments anymore prior to his ban. Just hope he will be able to find new friends. Honestly I'm super disappointed Nintendo finally aggreed to do an official competitive circuit (with melee in it on top of that... ugh). I'm part of those who thought Nintendo were absolutely right to try to shut down events to be honest... not only because it's good as a gamer to see an editor having some goddamn personnality and values (whether we agree with them or not) but now because I see how bad and even dangerous the environement is :/. Maybe it's specific to the US I don't know but overall it's just better to play """"casually"""" or even in a hardcore kind of way but between friends.

Zack cause irreparable damage to the community. He was the only person to contribute, but he had such a huge impact on it after the fact. Technicals continued to push for Nario's ban while exposing the Smash scene even more, and everyone who sided with Nairo covered their eyes and ears and are pretending like that didn't happen for some reason. Pretending that Nairo didn't commit crimes. Why? I don't know. I still love Smash Bros. I still think the community could be amazing. But something needs to change. Who knows if it will.

Yeah man, I applaud Technicals for this, I applaud you too and respect your decision to take a step back, you need stamina and mental fortitude to sit through this strenuous display of hypocrisy from the community at large. So many people want to fucking preach, "Separate the player from the person" but no one applies said logic to what Technicals is saying because their favorite content creator was criticized by him and/or they genuinely don't like him as a person for something that he did 2-3 years ago, not relevant to anything he is saying or doing at all currently. *Insert an exhausted sigh here* Just don't let it stop you from enjoying a game you like playing, the community isn't the game.
