32:58 This is a critical point. Some middle aged TSs are ret-conning their own past. 55:20 Legislators need to know that there are activist physicians who serve on committees in the professional medical society. These physicians are determined to push gender ideology. As a regular old doctor, I know that these people are bullying many of us.

Dr. Levine is right. If a paranoid schizophrenic with OCD came to a professional, would he treat him by saying, "OK, how can I affirm your destructive paranoid delusions and OCD compulsions? I get paid to help you self-destruct now, let's give it a go! How can I help make self-destruction the new normal for you and everyone around you?" Just the same, any professional worth their salt also knows that denying the patient has the delusions are real likewise makes the patient dig in that their delusions are real. Will we too help them self destruct from either direction? Or would we support them in getting through it, finding the roots and evolving out of it unharmed? Any professional worth their salt will also involve the family or friends in not exacerbating the destructive delusions from either direction. "Professionals" are now mandated and paid to make things worse from one of those two directions.

Exactly. Furthermore, any approach which centers pharmaceuticals and surgeries-- which will permanently alter the body and negatively impact future health and fertility-- as the *primary* treatment pathway for a dissociative disorder (i.e. an issue of the MIND) is completely unethical, and, frankly, monstrous. We should first be doing everything we can to help such people *integrate* their internal sense of self with their physical body: not cutting them up so that their bodies "match" their self-perception.

@@sonmi2246 there are therapists who follow an "affirmative care model" for people currently diagnosed with DID (formerly multiple personality disorder) in order to get all the personalities on the same page if some disagree with transitioning.

We're beginning to realize that we as citizens have the responsibility to evaluate not just individual experts but the standard practices of their field as consumers. We might not be skilled or knowledgeable to be practitioners in their fields, but we can learn what their values are and their justifications, and decide whether there are problems there.

Wow the questions from Ms Pamela D. show her childish naiveté or her indoctrination into the ideology…the “consensus” of the endocrine society to prioritize “gender affirming care” was not an actual consensus of medical professionals but an organizational top down decision without input from doctors as was done for all other practical considerations…plus any disagreement more often than not will lead to harassment and possible loss of career…disregard for those considerations shows ignorance and/or bias.

She really does not understand cultural pressure, what following the "affirmation" model means and assumes we can trust in the institutions implementing this model to be ethical and not financially or ideologically motivated

Current affirmative care is another way to describe health customer service. Medical societies were captured by powerful lobbies for profit purposes and health ethics are whipped out over any other science based approach.

There is no reach that gender addled ideologues won't stretch to to ignore what is right in front of them and then try to throw shade at anyone who doesn't reach their ideological standards. Delissio genuinly disgusts me.

If you wanna learn more about the biochemical background of gender identity, read this comment or watch here on YT the video "Die Vielfalt der Geschlechtsentwicklung - Vera Birkenbihl" You can turn on automated translation. I also highly highly highly recommend you read the books from Louanne Brezindine. "The female brain" and "the male brain". Absolute bestsellers in their field. And real eye openers. Part 1 is about this 'expert' Part 2 is the explanation 1) This expert left out a lot of long known scientific knowledge. He claims it is unknown as to why some/more people have gender dysphoria, when in fact it is well known. He was educated in the 1960ies and all his cultural background and personal beliefs are influenced by the thoughts of his time. He skips over truths. I do not know why. The first thing he did is talk about himself, he introduced all his life achievements, his titles and roles. He tries to build rapport by who he is, not by what he says. His position in society is what makes him 'the expert' or 'the authority'. Not his knowledge. That is a typical tactic of someone, who wishes you to lower your critical thinking. He's an expert of psychiatry, you can be sure, that he knows this tactic and uses it accordingly. You can decide for yourself how much you believe him. It's just a thought on my side. 2) So, how does it work? What you are is defined by xx or xy (or xxx or xxy if you're unlucky). Yet, the brain is much more mouldable than the body. When in the whomb the fetus develops the brain while being showered with hormones. If those hormones match the biological XX or XY, then a matching brain develops. If, for whatever reason, the hormone shower is the incorrect or opposite one, then the brain develops the other way. The level of hormone variation can be quite large, it goes from minor variations, that gets you male artists or female athletes, and it ends with full blown transition. On top of this brain structure difference, everyone is influenced by our societal constructs that define what is appropriate for a person and what not. Since we already know that hormones change the brain's structure and thus behaviour, we can now take the next step. Look at the environment and all the plastics. Plastic, microplastic is everywhere. It is inside our bodies, because we eat it with our food, drink it with our water. Most plastic compounds have hormone active substances. If we feed our children from early age such polluted food, we shouldn't be surprised that changes occur. Remember the story about the frogs? Yeah, that's what plastics do to the environment. It is not just societal factors, or psychological factors. It is also environmental factors. He conveniently left all of that out. But now you know. The rest of what he says is okish. There is more he left out though, again, unknown as to why.

The studies done on brain structure of self identified trans kids do not show the brain is built as the other sex. They only show the brain is less different than the brain of a "typical" brain is from the opposite sex. There's no proof to say why that happens, or if it is also present in autism spectrum kids, or kids that are atypical in another way, but do not identify as trans.

@@RowanLovecraft2 you actually just wrote the answer. So, for some autism types the brain hemispheres work together much better. That's for example why autistic people or people with Asperger's can identify patterns quite well. It also helps with social behaviour. The connectivity of the brain is stimulated by female hormones. The same obviously goes for gender. That's also why females can often "outgrow" their Asperger's. The more pattern recognition for social skills one has, the more can the person compensate the natural lack thereof caused by the developmental anomaly/diversity. Many doctors don't consider Asperger's to be an illness anymore (unless it's very severe). It's just a different type of brain. The same could/should go for gender. I'm sure we'll get there one day.

@@prunabluepepper yes. I'm an autistic female. I am glad nobody ever told me I identified with Indiana Jones because I'm really a man. And therefore I was never tempted to sterilize myself in the pursuit of feeling normal. I'm fine with whatever consenting adults want to do to their bodies to customize them. As well as whatever they want to do in their bedrooms to have fun. But telling kids their identity should be dependent on pharmaceuticals for the rest of their lives isn't okay. And anyone using their identity as an excuse to violate other people's boundaries and rights is beyond not okay. So really, who cares about brain function, or fetishes. The important part is females having safe spaces, and parents having a say in their child's medical care

@@prunabluepepper it's worse in the UK. If a rapist claims they are trans after they get caught, their female victims are forced to call their rapists "she" when they testify against them. And there are NO female only spaces allowed at all. Because the autogynephiles scream "muh civil rights!" and say the clinic is discriminating. And in Scotland a law was just passed that anyone can claim to be any sex for any reason, and all establishments have to abide by the self identity. There's a woman there facing 4 years in prison for saying a MtF is a man. No kidding.
