I can fly or be stronger or whatever in my dreams, not because of me realizing it's a dream, but because in my dreams that's something my instinct would do, knowing it has that ability. The same as being able to walk in real life, because it's simply something I know I can do. So I can also not control the environment or control what I'm dreaming about.

I'm having a vivid lucid dream regularly, in it am flying on some sort of a black reptile with huge wings & mirror ish reflective scales that flips backwards in wind direction and creates a camouflage with its surroundings, i have had this dream 377 times now and everytime it gets wilder and more detailed, the wildest one is when i flew around and then landed on the pyramids, i woke up that morning on the sound of the heavy breathing and winds made by wings flapping and had actual sand stuck on my hair and shoulders, I have a shower every night before bed there is no way any of this would have been stuck to my body and hair. I named the creature Nahruon The Obsidian. My 1st name is Nourhan so it's my name backwards. I have no idea what any of this means but if it's any indication of my abilities in the past present or future, it's worth finding out.

@@juanpablofajardoramirez1008 That is a catch to it. If you don't know how to do something, you can't do it in a dream without first imagining it. The only limits to lucid dreams are the limits of your mind. So anything you haven't been mentally prepared for will cause you to wake or lose control. Particularly awkward is a lucid nightmare. They're extremely difficult to control because your brain is actively causing you fear and will try to force you to submit. It takes a solid confidence in yourself to change it, or harder, let it happen, which is useful to dispel fears in your conscious state.

Yep I remember my first time being exactly the same, for lack of a better explanation I knew the dream was falling apart because I got too excited so using the last bit of uhmm 'time' I decided to free-fall in my dream because I hadnt had one of those in years. Was quite the blast. It occured during a semester I was taking a class over the philosophy of sleeping, dreaming, and dying so kaybe that eventually influenced me in being able to have a lucid dream. I cant say ive used proper methods to force a lucid dream. I guess in hindsight I became aware of myself because I looked into a mirror and my apperance was a bit off, I was wearing my favorite clothes but my eyes appeared to be made out of smoke thats what kicked off the lucidity and excitement.

@@jayco9214 he's just saying it... the mind is far more powerful than most people realize that's why people have woken up out of Comas never playing an instrument once in their life for instance piano and being able to play Mozart and Beethoven because almost everything we've ever seen heard or smelled is locked in our brain somewhere it just is a matter of how many many synapses connect for us to be able to recall that memory and it's also why people got a concussion and it rewired their neuroplasticity in their brain and all of a sudden spoke 10 language is when they thought they only knew one language because they have heard those languages in their life somewhere or another but didn't practice enough for their brain to wire it to be at the Forefront of their brain so yes you can practice the skill in lucid dreaming because it untap some of your subconscious and like the old adage practice makes perfect

When I was younger I repeatedly experienced dreams in which I died, like getting shot in the head or fall to my death, even weird contraptions that would crush me. Although it may sound quite horrible, I've never experienced these dreams as a nightmare and rather saw them as an interesting one. The reason for that is what happened after I died. For some reason I felt the shock of death, like someone giving you a big scare, something that would normally wake someone up and thank the gods it was just a dream. For me, however, I stayed asleep and experienced myself floating in empty darkness for sometimes the feeling of hours. The calmth and just sheer nothingness of it all felt relaxing, as if someone were to continuously tell you that "It's all okey now; It's all over; You can relax". Even today (about 6 years since my last one) I still wish to experience it once more, once more to just feel the calm embrace of darkness, the calm embrace of feeling save, complete and finished.

This is a simplified and more realistic answer to what is lucid dreaming and how it works, from someone who actually experienced it. 1 When you will experience lucid dreaming for the first time, you will wake up in your dream, you will see the actual dream in which u are and wonder (wow, this is amazing), but everything will slowly disappear in front of your eyes, and slowly u will wake up and after that, u will shed a little tear for how amazing that experience was :) 2 Most likely for many of us, this will be very rare, and the maximum of what we will experience from lucid dreaming. 3 If you experience lucid dreaming you will find out that staying in the dream is a very difficult thing to do, not even mentioning controlling the dream. Is not "a dor" you open and walk-in like Alice in wonderland and do whatever you want, as long as u want... Everything happens fast in reality, and from the moment you realize you're dreaming till you wake up will probably pass no more than 10s. 4 While you'll be lucid in some of your dreams, (it takes a couple good dreams) you will probably even "involuntary" change the action of the dream 5 To voluntarily change the dream as you please (or something close to that) is a very tricky thing to do, bcs you can't use logical thinking to do it, you will wake up if you do that. The only way to change and shape the dream is through emotions and desire (at least in my case). You can't just imagine things and they will appear there, you must desire them. The dream will modify and change based upon your feelings and desires, you just desire and the brain will do the rest of it, he will modify everything to match your desires and you will simply find yourself in the middle of the action :)

Legit what I experience about twice or 3 times a week, I never considered it lucid dreaming though because of how people describe it. It's always That I either become aware it's a dream and wake up shortly after(sometimes I use this to my advantage with avoiding nightmares) or I realise it's a dream and can't willingly change something, but I go after what I want in the dream itself with usually something stupid keeping me from reaching it, but all while fully aware it's a dream

So I googled and did some research and found out about lucid dreaming, although I never made an effort to have them, I had maybe 5-6 more after that in the span of a year or 2. Imagining things was exactly what I did, I imagined places and people, and flew around just enjoying it all. I also found out your mind can quickly turn it into a nightmare, but after the research I just thought happy thoughts and focused on whatever thing I was exploring and it kept it at bay

I experimented with controlling my dreams in the early 90's while writing an essay on the subject for a college class. One of the books I read gave real specific instructions for this. First realize you are dreaming by looking at words on anything, look away from it, and then look back at it. It will have changed or even appear to change while you are still looking at it. Once you realize your dreaming the first step is to try and float, then spin your dream environment, and then finally fly. Once you can fly you are in complete control of the dream, and can go anywhere and do anything. I was able to accomplish all of this within a few days or weeks. Haven't used it much throughout the rest of my life, but it still seems very useful.

I was in a old building with many rooms. Long corridor with opened doors. I was walking and looking into the rooms. One of the room was all in white tiles like in old hospital floor, walls and ceiling were tiled. In a middle of the room there was a stand with opened book. I kept walking, past that room but than thought - I am in a dream I can do whatever I want! I can read this book! Than I turned around and walked back to that white tiled room. The book was big and ancient. I was anticipating to read something interesting but I couldn't. The letters were combined together and looked like worlds but they were not real worlds. They did not make any sense. I was disappointed and continue browsing the house.

I did this when I was in a coma. I could listen to what was going on around me, or change the landscape to fit my wants. It came and went, and I've since described it as being awake in the coma and being asleep. It was surreal to say the least. I can't remember much of it now, but I do remember knowing I was doing it, knowing I was in a coma, even shouting replies up at the sky to people in the room where I lay.

I've been lucid dreaming for close to 35 years. It started when I was 11, and I didn't even know lucid dreaming existed or that there was even a name for it. I had a crush on a classmate, and one night I had a dream where she was in it. It was not romantic or anything, we were just hanging out. But I woke up extremely enthusiastic and feeling great. And it made me wonder if dreams were somehow manipulated by certain actions, events, sights, and/or sounds at certain times of the day. And I wondered if I could find the right formula to have that same sort of dream every night. So I began experimenting. I eventually gave up on trying to dream about my crush. And focused on seeing if it were possible to be conscious during a dream. What my 11 year-old-self decided to do was to repeat to myself in bed, out loud, "Remember it's a dream" and repeat it 100 times. I did that for about two weeks. One night, I was having a dream where I was riding my bike with some local kids and I got that feeling that you get when you feel like you had forgotten something. Or rather, that you should be remembering something important. And then it immediately hit me: I remembered that it was a dream. It was like blinders being taken off of my eyes. I was so excited, I told one of the other kids in my dream (that current lucid dreamers refer to as "Dream Actors") that they weren't real and that this was all a dream. He didn't like that, and took out television remote control, clicked it, and I began getting sucked into the pavement as if it were quicksand. So I quickly relented and said he wasn't a dream. And then I immediately woke up. I've learned it's not uncommon for first timers to wake up shortly after a lucid event. But I was jazzed. My experiment had yielded results! So I continued to push forward. Lucid dreaming, I also learned, is a lot like practicing any skill: The more you do it, the better you get at it and the more easy and natural it becomes. I haven't had to repeat any phrases to myself since I was that young boy. Now it's just second nature to instinctively know when I am dreaming or not. Unlike a lot of the more hardcore lucid dreamers, these days I don't really go for 100% lucidity all the time. I personally like to sit back and enjoy the rides in my dreams. Essentially I go with the flow, but can instantly go 100% lucid when I don't like how a dream is going and I want to change it. (Affecting dreams, like manifesting objects or defying other natural laws of physics within dreams was much harder to master but it is possible... it just takes an incredible amount of willpower to blatantly defy your dream's reality) It's something I am glad that others know about and have named. I am glad it was also proven, as it's not something I could ever prove. But I can say that anyone can do it. There are other tips people have that are likely better than what I did. Good luck to any future lucid dreamers out there!

11 or 12 is a special time for the brain. You find that you can do things that most people grow to not believe possible and lose the skill. One skill makes you feel the future just before it happens. The brain does take a moment to create the world around us. Some kids feel they hear it before it happens. This has proven true.

Steps that helped me get a few As in school by studying in my sleep was: 1. Repeatedly throughout the day stretch out your fingers, look at them and ask mentally "Is this a dream? Are these my hands?" -> I like to have a some anchor and I always carry my hands with me. So my hands became the anchors. 2. Before you go to sleep, remind yourself that you want to wake up in the dream. 3. Make this a habit. After a week I was able to fly in Manhattan, talk with future self, study for school and prepare for speeches. But this method was a bit unreliable because I was more interested in student partys than the school. Also if you want to study in sleep it helps if you skim through a book before you go to sleep so the unconscious mind has something study in the night. Unfortunately, I stopped doing lucid dreaming after I left the university. But I'll try this again to learn a new language.

@@happninmojo Didn't know it was impossible. I tried researching this woth google and it seems experiences vary from changing texts to seeeing jumbled letters to reading books. I guess that's not reading but helped me remember the content in an exam. I don't really know how to explain. But last night I was able to remember letters that I had seen in a foreign language class and remember making basic sentences during sleep when my teacher in sleep showed me the letters and asked me to name them out loud. Here's my experience with lucid dreams... When I was 14 my older brother passed away after a car bad accident. For the next year or so I started to experience sleep paralysis most nights (likely due to the traumatic event). At first these episodes were horrific but as time went on I developed a system to wake up my body by focusing on moving one finger. Once I could move that finger I could shake myself awake. After learning how wake my body out of sleep paralysis I was no longer afraid of it. So what I started doing during the mentally conscious, but physically paralyzed, state is NOT wake my body up and intentionally stay in limbo. If I stayed in this state I would begin to lucidly dream. These dreams were the most amazing experiences I have ever had. Unfortunately, my sleep paralysis faded away and took my ability to have lucid dreams with it.

As you take your first step through your bedroom wall, your hearing is greeted with the soft irritable buzzing sound of ceiling office lights, and your eyes are overwhelmed by the ugly yellow carpeted room and wallpaper covered walls. Confused, you glance about your surroundings, trying to understand what you stepped into. The room appears empty, along with the rooms beyond the one you stand in. You attempt to step back into your own room, but find yourself in a similar room you were just in. You start running. Room after room, it was all looks the same. The buzzing gets louder. You cover your ears, and hope you will eventually wake up from the nightmare. Welcome to the Backrooms.

Someone I know had two unexplainable dreams. I’m just going to call them… well, “them” to keep it anonymous. Once they kept having the same dream of a person in a car at a park driving down a road crashing and dying. That came true. Another time it felt like they were fighting something telling some sort of presence that this person that they had a crush on in 2nd grade was *not* going to die. They actually felt physically tired for the rest of the week. They ended up telling their mother that she would see something in the news that following month. And, sometime that month, their previous crush was in a terrible car crash. Their brother was nearby and pulled the person out of the car, barely before it exploded. If either of them had been a smidge closer, they would have died. That’s my story.

@@212xgaming4 So I had a bit of a head start cause I always remember my dreams when wake up. What you want to do is keep a note or sketch book next to your bed. When you wake up write down or draw out your dream with as much detail as possible. This will supposedly strengthen your dream memory. Eventually you should be able to tell it's a dream. Like I said I wasn't sure if I really realize I was dreaming.

I always remember my dreams but that makes it hard for me in every day to day life, because it’s hard for me to remember what actually happened in real life, or if it was just a dream. I also normally go back to places in my dreams that I have dreamt of like over 5 to 10 years ago which is amazing to me. I can tell you what all those places look like, inside and out. But seeing as how they are all made up I could never tell you where it’s located lol Most of the things that I do dream end up happening, or they are just complete and total utter nonsense and an adventure… it wasn’t until you made this video that I actually realized what I have been doing! I used to use a mouth tobacco called snus that you place under your left or right for lip. (If you have seen Swedish hockey players, you know what I mean.) Anyhow, I used to fall asleep sometimes with tobacco still under the lip and at the time I used a CPAP breathing mask against sleep apnea that made the tobacco dryer and uncomfortable under the lip. So, I used to walk around in my dream trying to spit out the tobacco by I never managed to do it. (There was always more of the tobacco under my lip.) I try everything in the dream and usually around the time when I literally have the water tap in the mouth trying to flush the snuff and it doesn't work, I will realize that I am dreaming. That's amazing and I usually take a look around to discover where I am, looking out the window and so on. There usually also other people present and as I was standing there talking to three of them, I told them that I was having a dream and that therefore they couldn't be real. They looked shocked and didn't seem to like what I just told them. I could see that they felt bad about it and that they weren’t aware about it just as I wasn't aware about that I was dreaming only moments before. Some good advice?! Don't give in to the astonishment (as Terence McKenna would have said) and get to overwhelmed or to excited over things because it can get you to slowly wake up in steps turning the lucid dream into an ordinary daydream that can't be forced to continue. This has happened to me when I finally found and fell in love with "the girl of my dreams" or when in a not so noble cause as above are trying to have more than innocent kisses with someone, I find hot. I had to laugh at myself when I at one time woke up while giving my dry old pillow a big lick with my tongue. I also have experienced totally different kind of lucid dreams that are as real as this reality. The only way I know that I am dreaming is that my father and sister are still alive in the dream. That's how I know in which reality am currently in. (It would be impossible for me to distinguish between them in any other way.) I knew they both died so I understand that it can't be base reality. I accept it and that way I get to talk to them and to cheat death by spending some more time with my loved ones.

Basically went through a bunch of different showrooms with various themes inside a large museum. Had a bunch of original characters follow me around and help me decipher dream symbols with me, as in "what does this actually represent?". My lucid dreams often involve me realizing it's a dream but just deciding to let things roll naturally, acting like an observer or taking the time to talk to my own characters about my negative feelings.

I've learn how to lucid dream back in 2010. What worked best for me was to voice record on my phone asap I woke up everything I could remember from my dreams, after being awake and with the time passing we tend to forget more and more especially the details. For my "reality checks" I looked at the palm of my hand and asked myself outloud "Is this a dream?" For my "dream signs" I learned that if we are dreaming and look at our hands it wouldn't be normal (eg 6 fingers etc) also I learned that if we are dreaming and look at a mirror we wouldn't see really ourself and something will be off. This is why my reality checks included looking at my hand. I dont record anymore records of my dreams nor do any reality checks but I still try to recall my dreams when I am awake. Also most of my dreams now start with me either looking at the palm of my hand or looking to a mirror and from there I can choose to turn on the switch .

I wasn't falling nor ascending, but as I gently waved my hands across the infinite nothingness, millions of tiny stars and baby planets came into existence, far far away from me. As I cupped my hands around one of the young celestial bodies , I could change it's size, shape, geological properties, anything that makes up a planet or star. I could create life by stroking my fingers across the surface; gentle beings that wish to thrive together as a species. Civilisations and communities appeared wherever I looked, and they all looked so incredibly content with their lives and themselves. It's my most favourite dream. I wish someone could make a visualisation of this experience. 💕

Not to brag but I have been successfully lucid dreaming for the last 14 years. It is absolutely wonderful and it makes the act of going to sleep an absolutely exciting one... anytime I have a stressful dream there is a point where I become aware and take control if it's a good dream I totally have absolute control. Flying and taking up to the air is fantastic, I always start flying and wonder why cant everyone else can't figure this out, it all seems so easy( in my dreams of course). It kind of feels like in my dreams when I fly I know the secret of life and cant understand why we can't all figure it out. Idk it's fucking amazing

This is a hidden technique, a kind of shortcut through the bullshit, called the twin position. Took me years to figure out. Waking up from that second dream is the beginning to understanding the mystery of the dream. At that point it is helpful to have your ego a bit under control as one may encounter some very interesting side streets.

I'm a lucid dreamer. It is said that everyone dreams every night just not always you remember what you dreamt about. Lucid dreaming is an awareness state inside the dream world. You can even wake up on command from a dream or nightmare when you are aware that it's a dream. Some people think it is overrated. Is it? Well. It's your dreamworld. You can do anything there, whatever you can imagine. How can that be overrated? Sure, it's not real and it ends when you wake up but the mind CGI is the best of it's kind and you not only see but also feel and touch and hear and smell or taste everything. It is like living it only even better... You can eat the best cake and if you don't like it you only need to imagine/think/create/taste a better one. The same for whatever else you do. Do you wanna fly? Just take off. Do you wanna have sex? Just think who you wanna share it with. Do you wanna build a city from the ground with your mind? You have all the materials imaginable available. Do you wanna visit another star? Do you wanna go into outer space? Swim in the ocean? Go to a gig or even play for the crowd? Eat anything without feeling bad or getting fat? Travel in time to the Far West or ancient Egypt? Do you wanna see dinosaurs? Go to a place from your childhood? Talk with anybody? Meet an angel? You can do anything of that and even more. Only your ideas, your mind and your imagination are the limits. The metaphysics aspect of that realm is something that really interests me. It's a great way to know yourself better, know your subconscious self and try to learn even about your own essence. I'm also very interested in trying shared dreams. The problem is that people never recall dreams right. But I keep trying. Lucid dreams are not only vivid, they usually are a lot easier to remember when awake, but the important part is having the knowledge that you are dreaming, that that world is your creation. You can chose to control it or not, maybe just explore. In my case, suddenly and out of nowhere I just know it is a dream. No clue or anything. Just spontaneous awareness of the fact. But I can and have tried different ways to seek clues and objectively realize it in more dreams and sometimes I detect it. I am sometimes able to just enter a dream from wake state too. The transition is pretty interesting and weird! Lucid dreaming IS The Matrix and you ARE NEO!

In a dream there were 2 ways i knew i was dreaming. 1 if i saw my reflection and it was fuzzy i knew i was dreaming the other if i thought i was dreaming i would make myself levitate. Did it through my college days without issue. Unfortunately as I have gotten older, almost 50 the ability has diminished and infrequent. I was excited a few weeks ago when I had a lucid dream but it was the first one in a very long time, I can only guess age and stress impacts it.

This may sound like a lie, but i swear to god the dream felt like hours and hours of just pain. The brain really is something to be able to manipulate the sense of touch in a dream.

I tend to lucid dream quite often. It is like waking up in a dream just like he said. The strangest part is that the "camera angle" shifts like a role playing game. Instead of looking through my eyes as in waking life it goes to a "camera 2" mode or third person perspective. So I'm watching myself, as myself, directing that scene while I kind of create a set. Like a movie. I can move around the set, add characters, take them away, etc...I have noticed though that I only have a limited control over the other characters. They seem to have enough free will in the dreamscape until it gets weird and then I kind of silence them or leave. I can remember the dreams for days, months and years later with extreme clarity. Sometimes I can even go back to a particular "set" and revisit it with shocking detail. One thing I can say is that quite often the shape of the dreams are disoriented or misshapen like the gravity is too heavy and it's hard to walk. Or the characters look at me like I don't belong there or I'm an alien for lack of a better term. Maybe intruder is better. It can be way more tiring than being awake. I'd prefer just black silence from time to time. This isn't something I ever intended to do. I'm 40 and this has been happening for a long time. I am left handed and I think certain parts of my brain may function differently than right handed folk but i'm no scientist... Happy dreaming ya'll

I've done this before and essentially, I was in a race that went over a plateu in the middle of winter. I remember saying to myself, something along the lines of, "I don't remember being on a fricking mountain with a grandpa." and that is how I became conscious. I remember that part way through the race, that I had agreed to participate in, that the grandpa was super far ahead and I got distracted and almost fell off the side of the plateu. But, I caught myself, then I slipped and fell anyways. But, when I hit the ground instead of dying I just landed upright and kinda just fell over after landing. It was super weird because I spontaneously turned into Link, from Legends of Zelda, because I could no longer concentrate. Then after a few minutes of just sitting there I woke up.

@@the_hanged_clown just make sure to remember details from your dreams (like things that are clearly off when you're awake), that'll at least give you a foothold into your dreams when you notice it in a later dream. For me one of the dead giveaways to become aware/lucid in a dream is the near complete lack of periferal vision. Started experimenting with lucid dreaming when i was six or seven as my parents always sent me to bed way too early back then (they just wanted some quiet time) and hence i got super bored and started thinking up games/experiments to pass the time laying in bed. One of my best methods to go straight from being awake to entering a lucid dream state was by first consciously relaxing every tense muscle and then laying absolutely still (may take a few nights to master, took me three) and once relaxed start counting up from one to two etc. the last thing (counting) will keep your mind awake and the first thing (relaxing) will allow your body to 'fall asleep'. However do not stress over anything like missing numbers or losing your count, just continue and relax, or your heartbeat going up and added adrenaline will make it much harder for your body to fall asleep. When i got both right, it felt like i was getting lighter and lighter, until i felt like i was weightless in my bed. Then i assumed i had entered lucid dream state, as i slowly floated up to above my blanket. Silently pulled myself around the house (still weigtless/levitating) but went back to my bedroom eventually as it became boring and cumbersome (having to pull yourself around turns out not to be nearly as effective as being able to walk around thanks to human-suited designs, muscles and gravity) where i sunk back into myself and entered a deeper stage of sleep.

The trick is "nudging" for the stuff you want in the dreamscape... rather than "making direct demands"... Some meditative "preconditioning" can really REALLY help. It all takes time, so be patient with yourself. Speaking in negatives is a mistake. Try chanting this one instead, "I will be in control when I dream and will remember when I wake." over and over... The preconditioning... Meditate on a specific visualization... Describe the place in detail... the more details you can get to the better... and really visualize, so you force out the "useless monkey chatter" in your mind about "screwing up"... It's YOUR imagination. You can't screw up... unless you secretly desire to screw up... You can only create WHATEVER YOU WANT... be it purple dragons that spew acid and bleed poisonous death... or beautiful girls too excited for your company to care if you grab 'em by the... well... then you get the picture (I hope)... Repeated "visits" to a specific visualization will make it easier for your mind to "take you there" and more likely for you to slip into that dreamscape at relative will without so much concentration as to "fall out of your dream" (waking up)... Once you can realize you're "where" you want to be, it's a lot easier to "nudge" it in the directions you desire, and your brain to "load" (think like a fuzzy, illogical console) and fill in blanks for you to find whatever you like. No, there's practically no limit to the number of worlds you can build for your "dreamscape collection"... It just takes repeat visits and practice to get to them... It can help to write out or record notes, so you have reminders of each "place", and it can help to Name them so you can keep them straight... AND yes, you'll eventually find it better to chant "I'll be in control when I dream of "the bay of sexy girls" and I'll remember when I wake"... At least, it was when I got to that stage. ;o)

Tip #1 is spot on. I've read the research on it. Apparently, once you stand up, your dream memory is instantly purged from consciousness. I have a lot of trouble remembering my dreams so I make sure to drill them into my mind before I stand up every morning. Still, before I get to the toilet, all I can remember is that I am trying to remember... I can only actually recall dreams when something triggers them later in the day. Sometimes days or weeks or even old childhood dreams will get triggered and then they stick with me. They are all stored somewhere in my mind. But the neural pathway to their location is not saved until I somehow randomly rediscover it while awake

Try spinning around and rubbing your hands as soon as you realize you are dreaming. I have never tried these methods myself because no matter how hard I try I can't lucid dream, but I hear a lot of people use these methods.

one time I dreamt I was in my school with all of my classmates, surprisingly I remember it well. I realized I was dreaming as I went to get up from the desk in the language arts classroom for next period, I just fell like a price of paper. I had never lucid dreamt before so I thought it was amazing! As my class was in the halls getting things from our lockers (for next period) I saw my friend and went to their locker and had a brief discussion about whether or not math was the best subject. After that, I made eye contact with the friend and said “I know I’m dreaming.” I thought it’d be funny at the time to see what my brain would come up as a reaction for that. But, to my surprise, the friend looked at me grimly, then glaring like some horror movie character. She locked her eyes with mine and suddenly I felt extremely uncomfortable, like that strange numbness when you get physically hurt in dreams. I started to walk away awkwardly, to the next period, as my goal for that was to break a window for fun in my dream, but as I went behind her for the door to science, the friend turned her head like an owl with the same expression. I was freaked out so I threw a book at them and ran away. Then when I got to my desk group in science, we talked about our supposed previous assignment, then a boy broke the conversation by saying “I know you’re dreaming.” In the same sing-song voice I used with the friend. All the other desk mates stopped talking and looked at me, With the same emotionless stare. I felt sudden control over the situation, and ran out of the classroom and outside the school, I tried to ignore it when I went down town near my school, then everybody on the street, about 200 people stopped their walking and window shopping, and just stared. At me. It was horrifying as they all fell limp to the ground at the same time, then then sky turned a strange color I can’t quite describe, sort of a purplish, brown tint. It started thundering, then the buildings started to fall and then I woke up. Never forgot it and I’m still really freaked out.

I’ve had a couple lucid dreams and I looked at my hands to realize I was in one. I would have 6-7 fingers on one hand. I would get super excited knowing I was in a dream and then start running immediately but that’s when they end every time!

I've heard that if you spin, like a ballet dancer, it can somehow help the dream not end.

@@jamesfox9922 Oh, that's interesting. I'll try to remember to try it, but it has so far seemed like I just never think to do any of these things while I'm dreaming. Then I wake up later and wonder how I could have not realized that was a dream. :-(

i've lucid dreamed many many times. I realized after a while that sleeping with the window curtain open for a slim glimmer of dawn sunlight triggered it the most. ...... i'm serious. i've tried it with artificial light but it didn't work for me. Most memorable (other than all of the i'm getting laid and it feels real ones) was waking up in a field of grass, on a planet that didn't seem like earth, with an enormous tree that reached the clouds in the distance. It was unbelievably beautiful. Garden of Eden? The world tree from Norse mythology? Yggdrasill ? all the same tree? That's how i saw it. lol.

My most memorable lucid dream involved flying - I could soar, hover, hop from rooftop to rooftop - and then I found myself in a Place, a vast, silent, solemn (but not oppressive) Library, filled with all the knowledge mankind had ever amassed. It was a holy place, tended by silent, robed attendants, one of whom very kindly (but very firmly) insisted that I must return to my normal plane of existence. He even provided me with a companion to escort me back to Earth, an earnest young man named Peter (Saint??). After a fantastical journey home (during which I gradually lost lucidity), I ended up on a bus, sad for having left the Library behind and not being able to convince any of my fellow passengers that I'd been there.

@@lesnyk255 I too felt kicked out of my venture. It was as if something spotted me, and i almost immediately awakened. The thing about lucid dreaming that i don't hear discussed often is that the more you do it. The longer, and easier it is for you to stay in the lucid dream. When i first started to do it i would wake up with a headache, and the dreams lasted only a minute or two. After 10 dozen or so more i could stay lucid for at least 7 minutes each time with no strain on my temples. When i saw that cloud reaching tree, and tried to move towards it the dream ended after no more than 30 seconds. Which was very unusual for someone at the level i was at at the time. I definitely now believe humans are capable of astral or mental dimensional travel. There are spaces, and places we are not yet ready to be allowed to see yet. :) Good L dream, thanks for sharing it. interesting. EDIT: Although, some of us might be allowed in to say, your library. The likes of Tesla, and Da Vinci for example. lol.

The surrealism movement in art is also based un dreams, actually, the painters used to fell asleep with a spoon in their hand, and a dish under it, so when they fell asleep, it would drop, making a loud sound that would wake them up, and from that short dream they had, they would develop their paintings.

Imagine that you were only dreaming that you had a lucid dream, but that that too was only a dream - and that you were not aware that you were in a dream inside a dream. Now ... imagine that you were dreaming that you were *someone* *else* having a lucid dream, while the *real* *you* was asleep and not aware that the fake you that you thought you were, when you thought you were having a lucid dream, was just a dream and wasn't actually you. And yes, I've had that happen. Dreams of being self-aware where the very act of being self-aware was itself just a dream and the real you was not aware of that the self-awareness was not the actual one but only the one in the dream (so that, in fact, you were *not* self-aware). An illucid "lucid" dream.
