Thanks for this - would be great to see your take on what secondaries TS can build around. I do struggle getting three that I can score well at outside a few main ones. I have personally always run a single cult, so no issue with the new army building changes, although I can see how it does take away a way to get more flexability into your army, and will reduce the already poor showing of the smaller, situational cults. On the value of the book - very poor, they could so easily have done this so much better, the thought of having to carry around the core rules again....... Anyway keep up the great content and look forward to your next post.

Thanks mate! Most of my thoughts have always been around single cult builds as well. Mainly for ease or remembering rather than ability🤣 I need to do a video on secondaries actually, not done one in my tactical in depth series yet and now there are limits and some tweaks it’s time to have a proper dive into that topic.

Hey dude! Thanks for checking in :) congrats on the first warhound! Yeah all good thanks. Work and family just decimated my hobby time for the last 3 years tbh. I’m still around, but sadly not able to make videos. My wife’s home office is my hobby room and it’s next to my daughter’s bedroom so airbrushing/video content just isn’t doable when she’s asleep. By the time I’ve set up, it’s time to take down for work again. Rock and hard place for a bit longer it seems. Hope you are well!

Great video, my brother! I'm interested to see how the rules about sub factions will affect the armies we see in the future. Imo, GW should have done what Auspex Tactics recommended; make detachments of subfactions that are "allied within codex" cost CP. Wanna take a patrol detachment of Krieg together with your main army of Cadians? 1 CP price. It would be better than straight up removing it. I know this is for tournament play but people use tournament rules for casual games a lot since it keeps them fair.

Yup it makes sense, although I've not seen their video on this tbh. CP taxing is a fair way to handle this kind of thing and seems a reasonable compromise. When 1 or 2 factions really benefit from in faction soup, but many others need, or require it to be fun or even fair, a blanket rule for all isn't the way to handle it.

I'm fairly certain the rules for conceding offer the opponent a minimum of 60pts +10 painted bonus, NOT a maximum of 60pts. So if the opponent has a higher score, they still get to keep it.

Absolutely right. I could have worded it a bit clearer really! If you have over 70 when your opponent concedes you don’t drop to 70 you keep what you have. But it can still lead to some unscrupulous play and I expect some TO’s will house rule slightly I feel to prevent that potential loop hole

Great video I agree and when they said seasons the first thought what 4 books a year but even two is a rip off especially as. It doesn’t contain the core rules and terrain sections now… Thousand sons wise I’d probably be saying rubrics termies with rhino and some spawn maybe something anti vehicle/monster but definitely rubrics and termie units

Cheers Richard. 4 books would be insane right?! Especially as the balance is so minor in most cases. And due to book publication delays, FAQ's and CA just days after a Codex drops invalidating it on day 3 is frustrating unless its made for free - Custodes was in fact free for this reason but still... that said, the game needs regular balancing, no different to a video game, but it should not cost. TS will remain Rubric and Scarab heavy, which is cool with me!

Sorry this is off topic. Any thoughts about the new Tau? I read that battlesuits are 4W T5 and their custom faction can have a rule making weapons S7 or less have -1S against suits and vehicles. So our combi bolters (without buffs) will wound tanks on 6s and suits on 5s. With buffs is 4s.

Off topic is fine! Sadly my knowledge of the Tau is very limited but what you say sounds right if those are the new profiles for Battlesuits. Maybe more reason to take Forgefiends to deal with them while SoT deal with the chaff?

@@OldAverageBritGaming Thanks. Yeah I guess it does push towards D2 / D3 weaponry. Just starting up TS, my list involves only a single helbrute (to avoid Railguns) and the rest are mostly flamer rubrics, spawn with a big unit of SOT.

I guess balance is always subjective, but im certainly glad we are not treated with the Necron underpowered, and Drukhari over powered approach that requires constant adjustments in points or drives changes to how many of something you can take (eg Org buggies). We might not be the best, but not the worst, and do "ok". We can do really well in good player hands and with some Tzeentch fortune.

Yup totally agreed. Although I don't advocate piracy, I can see why people will head to Wahapedia and other sites for a free. Unless GW get a grip on their digital presence and make the app actually any good and provide these updates in it for free (or part of the WHTV subscription as it is, and get it 100% right!) it will get much worse. When 3rd party apps are more accurate than the source of truth manufacturers, questions need asking right?!

I've got dexes for all of my armies and the core book, but $40 for, as you described, a pamphlet that only has minor changes for my armies leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. And you're right, for whatever reason GW seems to have an aversion to digitizing their products in any meaningful way.

Ive done the same. For years I was all about the "know the enemy" and buy the codexes for every faction. But now, its just not possible with way too many changes, FAQ's, supplements, WD articles, online changes and so on. And I dont play all my armies throughout the year anymore. So I have only actually purchased 3 codexes for the new edition so far :) (SM, TS and DG for those interested) Having been doing a massive clear out again recently, I have tonnes of cards for each edition and codex too, all of which is worthless and destined for the recycling.bin.
