Over 60,000 people visited Hebron on Monday and Tuesday during the Jewish holiday of Succot. The annual Succot music festival brought a dozen popular Jewish and Israeli musical acts to the City of the Ancestors who performed for the excited crowds on Monday.
On Tuesday at dawn the annual musical Hallel prayer attracted thousands who sang and danced with the Arba Minim. On these two days, the Hall of Isaac and Rebecca inside the cave of the Patriarchs & Matriarchs complex (Tomb of Machpela) was open. This area, which contain the cenotaphs of the Biblical Isaac and Rebecca is reserved only on Jewish holidays.
The Jewish community of Hebron would like to thank all those who worked tirelessly to make these events happen bringing joy to the masses on the Holiday of Rejoicing.
