Oh, I remember this story. This is based on a manwha called "Afterschool war activities". The art style is a bit unusual, and the story sometimes gets a bit slow, but overall, it is a really good story that is surprisingly dark and has some depth. The ending is especially surprising and strong.

Why are they training the students to crawl under barbed wire? Do these Aliens use barbed wire?? And why are they training the students to disassemble and re-assemble their guns?? The only thing they need to be teaching them is how to shoot small agile targets, and do it at the school, not dumbass walk them through alien infestations to get to some shooting range.

Does anyone know if there is, or will be, a Part 2 to this series?For Part 1: The only thing I didn't really agree with was keeping the students in the dark. The military should have been more open about the degree of the alien threat, while keeping hope alive by not sharing the worst of the details. The students would have taken the initial training more seriously, especially if they understood their families had been evacuated and were safe. It wasn't until the one group left the grounds and encountered the devastation that the students understood the magnitude of the danger they were in.

Looking at the convenient store scene, it like utilizing cold would be an effective way to kill and warn away the starfish-life aliens. Perhaps cold weather regions are safe zones. I wonder if cold weapons can be developed using liquid nitrogen, ammonium chloride, etc. Or maybe there is something easier. Now to the question presented: Heavy question. There's no right or wrong answer. It's a bad situation, with obviously stupid people all around. They did their best, in the time they had, so at least some survived rather than everyone dying.
