Why is it possible to lay pipelines for gas and oil around the world, but not pipelines to transport water for extinguishing fires? The water would already be there to extinguish fires and would not have to be transported in insufficient quantities by airplanes. Why is there no money for this?

The problem is not transportation It's getting water away from "Environmentalists" like Gov. Newsom, who devote the water provided by four other states, to Man-made recreational lakes in Northern California instead of to the drought relief and fire prevention that it's ear-marked for.

Firefighters do not control wildfires. Wildfires control firefighters. The fires will come under control when the rains come in the fall or early winter.

I guess that large fire can create their own micro climate. They suck in a lot of air to fuel the fire with air/oxygen. I watched a video of a fire tornado and you could see the storm /wind was going on the ground directly in the tornado. I get it can pull wet air from the ocean or from other areas as well

For those who don’t know, the Park fire started from an act of arson. Some jackass lit his vehicle on fire, then pushed it into a heavily wooded ditch and that started the fire. CalFire has a website where you can see updates on the size of the fire, cause and percent containment.

District Attorney Ramsey said today it wasn't arson. The car was stuck on an embankment, the driver revved the engine trying to pull out and the hot engine touching grass started the fire. He did flee the scene however, which is a crime.

Why not use the oldest method of carving up the combustible zones with corridors 100 meters wide with no vegetation to keep fires from spreading once they happen?

If you deforest a strip not 100 feet but 100 miles wide, fire risk is mitigated even better.
