Thousands of US, Germany, France & Spain Army Soldiers Arrive in Romania to Joint Swift Response 24

NATO multinational exercise "Swift Response 24" has started and is also taking place on Romanian territory. The application will include one of the largest airborne disengagement operations in Europe since the Second World War, with around 2.000 paratroopers.
A total of 5.000 military personnel from seven allied and partner countries are taking part in the exercise. Romania is providing air bases at Campia Turzii, Otopeni, Boboc, Banat Airport in Caransebes and three polygons.
Swift Response 24 is a dynamic U.S. Army Europe & Africa-led exercise focused on Allied airborne forces’ ability to quickly and effectively respond to crises as an interoperable, multi-national team.
Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance.
SWIFT RESPONSE 2024 is part of STEADFAST DEFENDER 2024, NATO’s largest collective defence drills in decades featuring around 90,000 troops from all 32 NATO member countries.
SWIFT RESPONSE 24 began with six near-simultaneous joint forcible entries (JFE) into Estonia, Moldova, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, and Sweden.
