The issue I foresee is that they'll modernize the skater models and animations. The charm of th3 and especially th4 was the aesthetically pleasing, tall, balanced skater models and fluid, arcade-y trick anims. Without those the games lose their magic and replayability... Something that was likely a happy accident by NS. The chances of another studio understanding and replicating that is slim.

I stopped playing THPS after 4, and never knew there was a quick turn mechanic. I literally learned how to do it today for the first time in my life in THPS 1+2. It's a fucking game changer.

Is this possible in the old games or only some after 4? I'm currently playing my old N64 copy of THPS2 and I'm curious if I'm missing something. One things for sure. I'm really wishing I could do a wall plant and even more importantly.. I wish I could level out my board after going up a quarter pipe. If there's a way to do either of these, I haven't found it yet.

When I was a kid, I remember sitting in awe and watching Andy for the first time as he combod for several minutes, racking up millions of points in what is STILL my favourite series of games. It makes me smile to drop in 17 years later and see him return and play these classic games again.... Respectfully, I think the latest remake pales in comparison to the feel of these classic PS2 titles (especially THPS4) - still - In the event the dev team decides to take on TH3/4 there's a SLIM chance that if they were to follow the original blueprints without taking any **ahem** creative liberties with the mechanics and aesthetics, they COULD strike gold... however, that would require a meticulous attention to detail and a reverence for the brilliant design of the games they'd be reproducing... and would you put money on that happening? Perhaps only Andy holds the candle by which the devs could see the nuances that made those two games look and feel as they do.... Without instruction from a veteran who can really put across how the balance and the fluidity of the originals made the games both great to play AND aesthetically pleasing, they could so easily make the sad mistake of creating another bland, polished, shiny HD remake with overly detailed, realistic models and physics, instead of revitalising the charmingly simple, fluid but crisp facets of these original arcade style games.

@@bLuemaNMKO You bet. I finally got a network adapter for my PS2 during THUG, but in 05 my console broke or something, and I had to move to PC. THPS3 was dying at that point though, TH4 and THUG PC were dogshit ports that you couldn't really play online with as I'm sure you know, so everyone was on THUG2. I never really stopped either..I still often play offline by myself lol.

Tony said that THPS 3+4 is coming but has said nothing about THUG 1+2 yet, instead he told he wants to "work on a new direction". Hopefully that means more THPS / THUG style games and not just something "super-arcade downhill jam" like Tony originally would have wanted from the whole series. Tony doesn't have a really good taste in games to be honest. His favourite map is Downhill Jam btw.

I always felt it was weird THPS had a Tennis minigame before the ability to get off your board. The one thing that skateboarding has over other extreme sports like Snowboarding or BMX is that you can bail anytime by just jumping off your board. It should have not taken until THUG to let the player do that.

Man I miss playing these classic PS2 version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 & 4! I’m so glad that they’re going remaster both 3 and 4 Tony Hawk pro skater games. Although, I don’t know if they’re going to remastered the PS1 version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3&4 or remaster the PS2 version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3&4. Either way, I think the PS2 version of those games did a lot better than the ps1 version because on the PS2 you don’t need to worry about having to deal with the fall damage unlike the PS1 version has. And most importantly, the iconic NPC’s with dialogues and animations are hilarious because I saw one of them named Ollie The Magic Bum did a front flip and it’s really funny on how these iconic NPC’s can make us laugh more easily. When I saw Ollie the magic bum, his voice dialogue sounded familiar to Derp Ssundee from Ssundee’s channel for those who don’t know who Ssundee is, and to those who don’t know who Ssundee is, he’s a youtuber that play’s Minecraft and Among Us and he’s a great youtuber with a good sense of humor that makes our day’s happier. If you wanna know where to find Ssundee, I’ll send you a link to him here. kzbin.info But other than that, it’s great to see the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3&4 games being remastered for the latest gen consoles and the next gen consoles as well. Um... well.. not the latest gen consoles because they only last ten days or even fifteen days if I might be correct on ether of these days. But still! It’s great to see my childhood memories of these games become a reality for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S and PC, or even the Nintendo Switch which I know a lot of you people have been requesting that since September 2020 and wanting that to happen ever since it was launched. So believe me, I know what you want and I know what you’ve requested. So don’t get your hope’s up and just keep your fingers crossed that it will happen and then it will happen. Ok? Good.
