One of my favorite movies of all time. Being Irish this movie stirs something deep inside me. Visiting Ireland is diffidently on my bucket list.

My beautiful wife and I watched this every St.Patricks day for 30 years. I lost her to cancer and get teary eyed now every time I watch it. God rest her soul and I know she is at peace in Inesfree...

Sorry for your loss, Terry. Are you from Ireland?

What I loved about Maureen O'Hara is the impression she gave that no matter how mad she was at you, if you kissed her she'd return the kiss. I also like that she took the slap on the rump in good humor because she knew it was done out of love not out of disrespect.

That specific scene where he looks at the broken bed and pronounces "Homeric!" was actually banned in some parts of the US for several years because the censors thought even the implication the bed might have been broken whilst "consummation was taking place" was considered too "explicitly sexual in nature." But then...that implication is what makes the line a classic.
