I agree that it is cool that he has turned out to be talented like his dad. I like that you still show all the failed attempts of each trick instead of removing them for a perfect reel. Way I see it, the more footage you have of all the failed attempts leading up to the successful trick, the more of a badass you are. Shows how difficult it really is, shows how persistent you are, and shows that you are confident enough to let everybody see your mistakes. Right on, man.

One of my favorite parts of this video is at 3:55. The family walking by in the background and the kid in the blue shirt's jaw just drops. Totally created a core memory for that kid. Riley is the man. Killer skater who paved his own way and didn't rest on the reputation of his father.

Watching these guys skate is such an inspiration and something I think all the bubble gummers out there should pay attention to. You don't just get good overnight kids, it takes practice, practice and more practice. These guys put their bodies on the line time and time again to pull off the most insane tricks. Concrete is their best friend and their worst enemy. Hats off to young Hawke, truly his fathers son.

I'm 38. Just started this week. Being old as dirt, I've learned a lot in my life. I don't think anything has been this hard. Can't even Ollie yet (God I've tried though) but I did do a fakie 180 kick turn coming rolling back off a ramp the other day. After I hit it on my 8th try or so, I understood why this sport/art is do rewarding.

Ashamed to admit I never really saw Riley skate. Been a Tony Hawk fan since I was a kid in the 80s, then I just fell off the map I guess. I can't get over his ability to transition mid trick. I don't know maybe I'm just old and out of it, but this is stuff I never ever would have dreamed of in my life even if I had never stopped. So glad this appeared on my suggested videos. Riley also answered a question I always had, which was how Tony might have looked had he skated for Alva. ;)
