That statement was Obi-wan's attempt to convince Anakin to stand down.

I strongly disagree Kenobi showed himself kind of a lightweight against Duku well Anakin was able to completely dominate him Honestly the scene was pretty poorly done where because the fight needs to end Skywalker just does a jump right next to a standing opponent with no guard whatsoever and honestly it breaks my immersion because that's just not how someone is powerful as him would act even if he's blinded by rage he would at least be swiping or doing something instead of just an unblocked slow flip@@milamberarial
@milamberarial11 ай бұрын
@@yami122 The fact that he is blinded by rage is exactly the point. The entire scene was showing him becoming more and more unhinged and out of control. If you notice later as Vader, he almost never loses control. Thats why Vader is a far better fighter than Anakin ever was. Obi-wan lost to Dooku for a few reasons, partly because Dooku was a duelist by specialty, he wasn't actually that good against things like blasters. And partly because Palpatine was manipulating everybody in that scene, especially Anakin. Palpatine wanted Anakin to kill Dooku. He wanted him to lose control. He knew that wouldn't happen if Obi-wan was still in the fight. Dooku was literally a worse fighter against Anakin than he was against Yoda or Obi-wan. Anakin wasn't better, Dooku was worse. Because of Palpatine. If Palpatine had been on Mustafar during the fight, Anakin would probably have killed Obi-wan too. Maybe not though, him being maimed worked for Palp's plan.

At the time of the Clone Wars, I don't think Thrawn (or any of the Chiss afaik) would've joined the CIS or the GAR as they were from the Unknown Regions and often loved to keep to themselves heavily rather than do anything to help any wars unless it involved their territories or extra-galactic threats. In 27 BBY, Thrawn met Sidious and the two struck an agreement, after Thrawn absolutely dunked on Sidious' private task force, that Thrawn would destroy the Outbound Flight (it was full of Jedi) to prevent the Yuuzhan Vong from finding the galaxy too early. The "If" scenario for this, I believe, is if the CIS or GAR had gained a huge amount of power and technology that I think Thrawn would've struck a deal or served in either to benefit the Chiss Ascendancy in furthering their capability to defend the galaxy from the Yuuzhan Vong ("Far Outsiders" as the Chiss called 'em). As for Palpatine's schemes, I believe you'd be right on Thrawn instantly seeing through the facade but he would care less as long as his goals remain the same and the Chiss Ascendancy are benefitting from whoever to get access to greater amount of resources to fight the Yuuzhan Vong. (This is Legends lore at the least for Thrawn and his books [as well as some other Legends books. There is one definitely about the Outbound Flight but that is definitely in the Thrawn Trilogy] do a great amount of explanation on it so I won't say more to either confuse people or sound like a headless chicken :D)

@Cailus35422 ай бұрын
With one exception: the final battle at Lothal. He was taken by surprise when he returned to Lothal, finding the rebels holding the Imperial fortress, but the rebels' plan was foiled easily enough. Forcing Ezra to surrender himself was also not difficult. While Thrawn didn't understand what the Emperor planned, he understandably assumed that a single Jedi padawan, without their lightsaber, wasn't much of a threat, especially after Kanan's death. Underestimating Ezra was a catastrophic mistake. Thrawn had no way of knowing that, with the Force, Ezra had his own plans, developed by peering into the future with the Force. Kanan did something similar; he knew for a while that his death was imminent, if not the place or time. Instead of trying to avoid death, he calmly accepted it as a Jedi should. As a result, Kanan had the power to save the people he loved before he died. Ezra, understanding that final lesson, was completely in control of the entire battle. He knew that Thrawn would arrive before they could destroy the fortress, knew that Rukh would escape, knew that Thrawn would want Ezra to come to the Chimaera. Finally, Ezra knew that he would have to sacrifice himself to stop Thrawn, given that he posed a serious threat to the Rebellion. All of this is because Ezra had seen the future, and thus manipulated that future to achieve victory. Thrawn, of course, had no way of knowing any of this. He likely only pieced together how Ezra beat him long afterwards. He realised that, because the Force was beyond his ability to predict or understand, the Jedi could beat him. This is why, when faced with Ahsoka, Sabine and Ezra, he had only one goal: run.

@@_PK777_ First of all, really? "Then we see the man himself, fat as fuck, not intimidating at all." MY GUY, THAT'S THE SAME DUDE. The guy who voices Thrawn here is the SAME GUY who plays him in Ahsoka. They chose to have the original voice actor play the role, rather than bringing in some buff dude who sounds nothing like him. I think that was absolutely the right move. Secondly, why would Thrawn bother spending time and resources hunting Ezra? From a tactical perspective, what good would hunting down Ezra during his time in exile do? It would not further his goal to get home, and if he sent out squadrons of troopers, any individual squadrons that encountered Ezra would have been killed. Keep in mind he did not have unlimited stormtroopers and ships at his disposal, he only had what was on his Star Destroyer when he got exiled. Ezra did not pose a threat on his own, and as Ezra said, it would have been suicide for him to try to assault the temple alone, so Ezra would not have been able to stop his plan alone. Only when there were two more Jedi was Ezra then a credible threat, and even then Thrawn was smart enough to know he likely couldn’t kill them, only slow them down. Which he did. And he won, he got away and went home. They did a good job of portraying Thrawn in Ahsoka, you are simply blinded by your hate and refuse to see it.

Its impressive to me how the worst animated Star Wars show could build up Thrawn so well and still end up wasting him at the end.
@azadirany6412 Жыл бұрын
He was defeated by jedi trickery and space whales!They knew he couldn't be defeated by intellect because let us be honest Ezra and the rest of the rebellion's forces had not the military genius of thrawn.
@lightdarksoul209711 ай бұрын
Yeah thats why Ezra had this back up plan. He had to try something so insane and that thrawn couldn't have known to expect to win but it was something that Thrawn never understood. The Jedi's powers and Ezra's especially
@JH2482111 ай бұрын
@@lightdarksoul2097 Agreed. Thrawn also underestimated Ezra as a person. He saw him as merely an immature boy who would "flounder" without his master Kanan. Every comment Thrawn made about Ezra was condescending during season 4.
@lightdarksoul209711 ай бұрын
Yeah and he did seem to learn from that even acknologing Ezra as one who had outsmarted him in Ahsoka. Also even Ezra doubted himself after Kanan. @@JH24821

Thrawn is the best strategist. His weaknesses: cannot disobey his superiors and unforseen supernatural.

The least believable thing about Thrawn is why would he serve such an undeserving master like Sidious.

How disappointing for Dave Filoni, that the animated version of Thrawn, is infinitely better than the live action version. Maybe he should've just left Thrawn in the more capable hands of the person who created the character in the first place.

@@Grubnarhe was though. His goal was never to kill Ahsoka and her friends. It was too escape with the cargo and The Great Mothers and most of his troops. He achieved all of those goals and ended up stranding Ahsoka, Sabine and Huyang in that galaxy at the same time. All he needed to do was stall them long enough to get the cargo on board and get back to his own galaxy. He did it. Sure there were tactical retreats but that was necessary and smart. Especially when Baylan Skoll just left his apprentice and his allies to fend for themselves when he was supposed to fight with them. But of course idiots like you wouldn't realize that.
