Embroidery and Weaving Exhibition "Threads of Life"
How is the thread of the yarn connected to the thread of life? The threads lead us into the imagination and stories of three artists, through the exhibition of weaving and embroidery "Threads of Life". Josiane Maisse, Eleni Pavlou and Maria Koularmani inspired by nature, the human psyche and their personal experiences, skillfully weave these elements into their works. The exhibition " Threads of Life" will be hosted at Katheti from June 15 to July 3, 7:00-11:00 pm. The opening will take place on June 15, 8:00 pm. Free entrance.
"Depending on the season, mood and various surprises in my life, I recreate a tactile, luminescent world, like a second skin, in shapes that are sometimes bigger than me. Behind the theme of nature, I try to weave and make visible under the braided silk threads the labyrinth of our buried desires, well-hidden secrets, benevolent ghosts of the past and timid dreams of days to come." -Josiane Maisse.
Threads of Life We are threads.
Threads of color, woven into dreams and experiences.
Each thread, a unique story.
Each story, a different view of the world.
We create.
We create with our hands, with our soul, with our imagination.
Each doll, each weave, a part of us.
An expression of ourselves, a connection to others.
We are threads.
Together, we weave a world full of color, imagination and love.
Welcome to our world.
-Maria Koularmani, Eleni Pavlou
