The wheel barrel was funny as hell because it made no damn sense. You’d be better off strapping your hiking backpack to you and frolicking through the woods than wheeling that massive thing that far for no purpose at all. It isn’t like it will attract some boujie chick with 2 huge suitcases and a tote to hold shoes, clothes and purses for the whole 48 hours she may be staying there, or rather stranded there as she pissily tries to get a signal to call an Uber that doesn’t exist.

Also, that shower is very unhygienic, so I would never use a shower that has been on the floor or that tchd surfaces tchd by humnz, and because I have the most severe case of OCD, so I always get weird thought when I see the shower on the floor and can’t stop my OCD thoughts - for me it’s easier to just use mineral water from the bottle, which is what I do at the moment, and, if I ever bought a shower like that one, I would keep it hygienic, but I would probably still use the bottle tho, because it’s so much easier!

I lived in a rustic house for eight years on an island in the Pacific Northwest of the US, and heated it solely with a wood stove. After you get the hang of it, it’s not difficult to cook on. Grateful I had indoor plumbing! Now I live in Hawaii and the first home improvement we did was to put solar panels on the roof. My tip is, it is ALL about the positioning, and you have to pay attention to the sun positions year ‘round because it really will affect your exposure. (Nearby trees, too.)
@Patchy2 жыл бұрын
yeah the wood stove was enjoyable and I could get by with that, I just need a better shower situation and a fridge/freezer for permanent living. yeah it might have been the positioning/trees that were complicating it.

Hi George! I love your videos. I was smiling and chuckling through this one for sure. I just wanted to encourage you to keep investigating off-grid living. Just a suggestion, instead of the shag white rug, an oriental or persian carpet with light blues and pinks might make a statement complimenting the age of the building, the open plain decor, and adding an anchor of ancient opulance.

this house might be worth the experience for me. the only thing that bothers me is the shower. i have long hair and it’s quite time and water consuming to wash it, i’d probably have to wash it at home before going to the house. i’d also freeze to death showering in this climate and weather, on the outside. oh, and there’s also the ticks. that significantly makes me less interested in this house now that i think about it. pretty cozy though, i have to say. i’d try for a day. great video!

Solar is super easy to set up and run. The only problem is the batteries can be depleted pretty easily even deep cycle batteries and won't hold their charge much like your cell phones battery eventually stops holding its charge. You need to make sure you have a good warranty on your deep cycle batteries so you don't have to purchase them over and over and over again but rather take them back and get a credit towards your next purchase.
