I have some theories as to why. Some people are not getting charged... These bail bondsmen work with the district attorney. And we might be protected in a way, and also the district attorney. Sometimes won't rack up charges though. Wait for these criminals to do more crime. So they can build a bigger case. What's really makes me so infuriated because the district attorneys are letting possible harm to the public, keep happening.

Not really. They allow for people to be dedicated to track and capture felons. This will reduce the cost to citizens and allow police to focus on their normal duties. But they do need to be properly regulated, like having proper warrants and charged when they don't. Some bounty hunters work for bail bond agencies and already get an agreed upon search warrant from the person they bonded and the agency, and it works almost as good as a search warrant from a judge does. In some cases, these types of warrants or how things can work for bounty hunters compared to cops, makes it easier and faster for them to be able to go in after someone that might otherwise slow or stop officers altogether.

As a licensed Bail Agent in the state of North Carolina it is against the law to for anyone other than a Bail Agent to act as a "Bounty Hunter" in this state. You will go to jail if you play with them people. I can't have a person without a license with me in any capacity not even as a lookout or driver.
@momosgarage15 күн бұрын
@@tlove14u no one understands how bail licenses work in general and have no idea that it’s not easy to get into the business in any state. The solution is to roll bail agents into the Private Investigator license and guarantee reciprocity if someone isn’t already licensed, which would initiate more training, testing and oversight by licensing boards. Also, the Supreme Court has been too silent on the issue of what bounty hunters can do, and haven’t addressed if “Taylor v. Taintor 83 U.S. 366 (1872)” needs to be reinterpreted.

A lot of these so- called “bounty hunters” operate on the false premise that they don’t need a warrant to detain and question people. “Recovery Agents” only have jurisdiction over those who they have a contract with the bonding company. Bounty hunters showed up at my neighbors house looking for some one, they sit his dog and tried to detain me and my roommates at gun point. My neighbor is a sheriff deputy and my roommate was a police officer. We thought it was a home invasion. There was a shot out (my state is a constitutional carry state) . My neighbor had no connection to the person they were looking for. Arrests were made and the rest of us were not charged because we acted in deference of a law enforcement officer. Three of the bounty hunters were convicted felons who were not supposed to carry firearms.

If you're a bail jumper, it's a bad day to play games. I especially disliked having to arrest women for shoplifting because they bite, scream (g)rape, spit, kick and punch even when they've been outright busted; but when dealing with bounty hunters off the rails? These bail bond companies need to be held accountable for not verifying their info while menacing the public.
