Belts for the old Mids are easier to get hold of than the re-release ones. Parts from the usual belts from Tough Racing they are also available from Modelsport who are selling the correct pitch bando belts.

nice collection once again, the long wheelbase buggies need a rebirth/reissue, my electronics in my re-issue mid, is a real challenge the body doesn't lay down too well

I hear Kyosho is re-issuing the Optima Pro. Guess that pushes any potential LWB out even further. 😢

Nice projects 😊 I would still exchange the Platinum from the TOMS, put them on the Turbo Ultima and then put the best pairs of Gold on the TOMS (in the meantime, the less good Gold can sit on the Custom Special). Also, the "correct" rear tyres for the TU are W-5032 (kinda square pyramidal spike tyre ? difficult to find), while Marwan are repro of W-5031 (somehow stacked pyramidal ? also difficult to find original one). But of course, it's kinda with a "purist hat" mode 😉 I look forward to the next video(s) 🤝

Yeah, I like your plan about the shocks - it makes sense to swap the best of the golds onto the TOMS and run the platnium on the Ultima. Thanks for the info regarding the tyres too. For me they're close enough to what I remember as a kid. Cheers

For the OT66 tires on the Optima Mid, are they the hard or soft version of the tires that Marwan makes?
