Interesting thing about those reference numbers... They will only indicate the game on the day it was actually authenticated. It would have been worn in many games before that. I have two A's hats that were authenticated as having been worn in a game that I was at in Seattle which just happened to be the day they clinched wild card and were issued new hats for postseason. The condition of the hats clearly indicates that they were worn in many, many games. It's just that they got into the hands of the authenticator on that day.

My only issue is would there be a card where “0” is the number that comes up? Seems that person gets the short end of the stick no matter what. Maybe I’m wrong.

The Mattingly autograph was the highlight of the break for me. You are right, he should be in the HOF. Lots of worse players in there.

Agreed. I am from Evansville, IN the same as him and had the privilege of meeting him at my cousins high school basketball game as a kid. He took the time to sign a small piece of paper for me after I asked him a bunch of questions about baseball. Still have it all these years later in a small frame with his rookie card.

@@raidersacdc4892 high risk high reward 😂😂. Idk what jabs is doing but it's seems there's 10 spots per card to make it cheaper. 250/10 is 25. I'd do that. Same as buying a lotto ticket imo but only 1:10 odds

This was his “best” $2000 Definitive (whatever that is) box and it yielded: - Wade Boggs auto - Mark McGwire auto - Don Mattingly auto - Johnny Damon auto - Three others who I am not familiar with These autos on cards - authenticated by PSA - are no more than $250 total. I don’t understand how this makes sense from a financial standpoint.

Isn't the hobby collecting and opening packs? There is always cheap options like buying single packs or buying singles off eBay that are plenty affordable. I feel like this mind set is akin to looking at a luxury car and saying that the car industry is ruined because high end model exists. Topps opening day is super cheap and you can even open packs on Topps Bunt 2020.

I agree those boxes aren't worth it, I'm enjoying the hobby just buying the players I want. Opening packs is just gambling at a certain level. Just buy the cheap packs if that's what your into or scratch a lotto ticket.
