Three day fishing trip in Uilenkraal {Massive Steenbras&Galjoen caught}

In my previous video while fishing at Kalk Bay Harbour, you would have heard that our next fishing trip would be a weekend away to Overberg. Well, this was it.
In this video you will see the fish we caught over the 3 days. Most fish were safely released due to being undersized.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t provide the quality and quantity of videos that I’d wish, due to me sadly losing my GoPro camera while fishing on night 2(which had most of the footage on it).

Awesome videos thank you. I am going to gansbaai over easter, in April. I am more proficient and experienced with Bass fishing, but would really like to start fishing in the ocean. Can you recommend a basic first rod and reel that will allow me to get my appetite wet lol. Rod length and action, I will probably be off the beach, rocks, harbour jetties. I am really not fimiloar with sea reels sizes, line guages and line carrying capacity, etc so would appreciate your guidance. I look forward to your response and more videos. Tight lines!!

Hi Duane! Thanks so much💪🏼 It all depends on preference and how the rod feels in your hand and how you prefer to cast. For rocks/reef, people use a 10ft,11ft or 12ft medium/light. Surf 13ft/14ft medium is usually used. Adrenalin has some very nice rods for good prices. If you fish with a multiplayer reel, I would recommend a Daiwa SL50. If you prefer a grinder reel then a Daiwa BG is perfect. Tell me, where are you from?
