Thank you so much for sharing your travels with us! I've been ill the past couple days and your sister dynamic and humor brought a genuine smile to my face. I loved the London vlog and this was one was wonderful as well, I know we're going to be in for a real treat with the Cotswolds one coming up. Need to see the culmination of that sticky toffee pudding arc 😂

I cackled when Aline said she was “canonically disorganized” and then Michelle smiled about it too - so funny. I love that now reading more of Aline’s writing on her substack, it kind of helps make sense a lot of those big word in a funny or witty way moments hahaha.

okay as someone english but who grew up in scotland: west coast!!!! edinburgh is LOVELY, has great bookshops and much to do, but if you want all that same stuff but just /calmer/ you should visit Glasgow, aka where all the locals go to avoid the tourism of Edin 😅 is maybe a bit rough around the edges but there are lots of cafes, vintage shops in the west end, free museums and galleries, and from there you can get trains to the coast, quaint little seaside places like Largs and Saltcoats (and from there a ferry to Arran which has lots of seals and views and hikes) OR train to Wemyss bay to get a quick ferry over to Bute (my old hometown) which hosts Mount Stuart (my old workplace as a tour guide) and I think you two would LOVE visiting there. The house is soo beautiful and I know first hand they give great in depth tours ;) we also have a shakespeare first folio you can request to visit and lots of important historical books in the archive if you request in advance if that is of interest! But yeh, please come back to the uk and to scotland!! I think yall would love what the other side of the country has to offer, especially if you want a more chill experience while still getting to see stunning architecture and old cottage-y gothic victorian vibes. plus more nature (stags, deer, highland cows, seals, otters etc). Looking forward to the Cotswolds vlog, one of my fave parts of England! 🥰

The part about the “club scene” made me instantly thumbs-up. I’m 24 and planning a trip to Edinburgh next November. My to-do list perfectly represents that of a 70y/o history buff grandpa. I will not be in the clubs until early morning, I will be in the museums and cozied-up in the bed at 10pm.

Very nice. And please do return to Edinburgh as there is SO much more to see and do. A few things: - At 8:09 you stop to reveal the context on Young Street. The white building in the background is the Oxford Bar, which is famous as the go-to for Inspector Rebus, the star of the renowned (and globally popular) series of novels from Edinburgh-based writer Ian Rankin, for whom the Oxford is also a favourite go-to. - As for Armstong's Vintage shops, there are actually four, not two, all within 10 minutes' walking distance of the one on Victoria Street (i.e., from Victoria Street to Grassmarket to Teviot Place to Clerk Street locations are just a few minutes stroll from each other). Within those few minutes are also Harry Potter-related attractions including Greyfriars Kirkyard and the Elephant House, where JK Rowling penned some of her books. Indeed, Victoria Street is cited as inspiration for Diagon Alley. - The fab neighbourhood you encountered along the Water of Leith Walkway after Dean Village is Stockbridge, a village of independent retailers, eats (including Lannan's, the Scran & Scallie as well as Manga Franca, which is where I assume you had your pizza) and great charity shops for books and clothing. There is also Rare Birds, a bookshop dedicated to female authors. - Where to go next time? - Portobello for the beach promenade, village and streets of cool homes. Also, Shirley Manson, singer for rock band Garbage (and who resides in Los Angeles) has a house near the promenade. Her family home is just a couple minutes walk further up the street from the Scran & Scallie. - Walk across the Meadows (80+ acres of green space) to Bruntsfield, a village like Stockbridge, where great fish 'n' chips can be had at Saltwater. Not only is this a fab commercial and residential area, carry along the street into Morningside, where there is more of the same. Finish your day there with an Indian meal at the Ghurka, then walk across the street to the privately owned Dominion Cinema. Or have a more traditional (and excellent) meal at the quirky Canny Man's pub before either walking back into the city centre or jumping on a bus (there are numerous). - No need to trek up Arthur's Seat. Views from the esplande at Edinburgh Castle (the parade space in front of the castle) are fab, as are views from Calton Hill at the other end of the city centre. Once again, great that you enjoyed yourselves. It would have been nice to see more footage of the city, so maybe you might want to consider that next time. Thank you...and cheers!
