I have a Roland td-17kvx2 heading my way. This search for good headphones is overwhelming. So many choices! I'm looking for a speaker too. Anything for sale? haha

Simmons makes a good drum amp that’s pretty cheap compared to the others. As far as headphones go you’d want closed back for noise cancellation. Any headphones by V Moda that aren’t wireless works great, Audio Technica headphones are great too. As well as in ear monitors

@@DAnthony14 I ended up with a Simmons 12" speaker and Sennheiser hd 280 pro headphones. The problem I'm having now (which I've read about many of times) is how terrible these Roland drum kits sound. Especially on the speaker. I'll have to do some tuning. Hopefully I can get it to sound better.

Can these headphones work with other than Roland or ekits? Like a monitor for live music? Hope you are feeling better brother! Hang in there Steve!

they work with all ekits and could also be used with acoustic drums though when I play my acoustic drums, I normally use ear buds to monitor my click track and just use the ambient sound of the band to listen to them. Most of our monitor mix is vocals and instrumentation that is farther away on stage like our lead guitarist rig... definitely hanging in there, some days are better than others but this too shall pass. hope you're having a great weekend.

Any headphones used for electronic drums needs to have a better flat response, otherwise they will distort horribly. I have the Alesis DRP 100, they sound mediocre for nmusic listening alone (when compared to say Beats or Skullcandy), but when playing vdrums with a music track, they just blend perfectly with zero distortion even at ear melting volumes. I haven't tried those vmoda for edrums, but i have for music, i liked my skullcandy better.

I hear ya... and I'm definitely no expert on headphones... I haven't had any issues with distortion but I also keep my volumes in the mid range... loud enough to hear and enjoy but definitely not skull melting... at 55... those days are in the past for me... I appreciate your stopping by... hope you're having a great weekend

Thanks Gil. I have some better days and some worse but overall I’m hanging in there. My chemotherapy is don and I still have 2 weeks of radiation. I think I’ll be feeling better mid July… I appreciate your support more than you know. Hope you’re having a nice weekend
