I don't understand where you get the Sqrt(3)*Vi*Sqrt(2)*cos(theta) in your first step. When I tried to figure this out I used the same integral range and same 1/(pi/6) but inside my integral I have this (using x instead of theta) sin(x + 2*pi/3) - sin(x + 4*pi/3). Oh but that has to all be multiplied by the peak voltage not rms voltage.

Thanks for the lecture. Just don’t understand why you integrate over half a period of the rectified waveform... Shouldn’t the average be integrated over a full period?

the half period is identical to the other side of the full period. the average would be the exact same either way because they mirror each other

We use tansformer & 3-PHASE rectifier to make the car starter motor power supply.I am strange about why the transformer secondary side use delta connection,cause normally in book always recommending star connection,and from diode view Uoutput=2.34Uinput
