So, just to reiterate, why not try this. Don't join a street gang. Don't steal. Get a job. Stay in school. Learn a trade. Stay away from drugs. Don't get pregnant at 14. Think about the military for a job. What else? Oh, take out a loan and pay for a car instead of stealing one. Is that a interesting perspective?

See my posted comments above. Don't join a street gang. Do sell drugs. Don't steal. Stay in school. Go to college. Go to trade school. Don't have children at 16. What else? Don't blame the police officers because you didn't make the NBA or the NFL. Also, pay for your own vehicles and don't steal someone else's. Anything else let me know. K.

Yeah, that pension you mentioned, a police officer will not get to touch it for like 30 years. The cost living in Chicago is very high, their pay doesn’t even equate to what it costs even to live around the Chicago area. You never get in to police work for the money.

I'm a black male, I have no crimminal record, I work a third shift, and I go to my university where I study epidimiology, almost immediately in the morning. While walking to my university I was stopped by 2 officers who said I matched a description. One of the officers asked me if I have ever been arrested, I said "no". He asked me the same question, in which I replied again, "no". He asked me how old was I. I said 27. He states, "And you have never been arrested before?? Come on." Let's just say my blood boiled and the other officer got between us and they left after running my I.D. This was just one of many times an officer had stopped me for vague reasons and have been disrespectful. That badge and gun, gets to their heads, and they bring it on themselves. I respect the difficulties of their job, but unfortunately because of my mostly negative experiences with them, I avoid them.

@@kekesmooth5618 it's always amazing to me how ill-informed people are. Cops don't "move up" by solving cases. Police promotions are done by merit board testing. There is a very strong anti-police sentiment in our country these days, yet people call the police for every. single. thing! They call the police when their neighbor gives them the middle finger. They call the police when Walmart refuses to give them a refund. The call the police when their 7 year old child is mouthing off. For so much hatred of the police, there is a huge demand for police services for the most minor things. It's kinda pathetic!

You want to have a conversation about crime in Chicago. Let's start with what happened to Hadiya Pendleton. Shot in the back. By gangster disciples. She was a honor student. 16 years old, and she got schwacked by some piece of garbage all because she was seeking shelter from the rain. So unless you have a real solution, just pipe down already. It takes a village. My fricking ass. Try raising your kids right, instead of having them raised on the streets.
