Three Queensland Farm Stays for families on your BIG LAP! Rockhampton and Mackay.

This week we show you three farm stay experiences in Queensland, all great spots for families.
First up is Alkoomi Adventure Farmstay, located between Gladstone and Rockhampton. They took us around to feed the animals and had a beautiful swing seat perfectly positioned at the top of a hill overlooking stunning rolling hills. For those looking for a bit more adventure they also offer horse and pony rides, motorbike and ATV rides and a sunset chuckwagon farm tour (all paid activities).
Next we stayed at Junabel Farmstay, located close to Rockhampton and Yeppoon, we enjoyed a visit to Keppel Sands beach and spending time with the farmstay animals. The boys fed chickens, ponys, goats and enjoyed grooming the horses. They also have a lake with a paddle boat for use free of charge.
Lastly we enjoyed Oh Deere Farmstay, a well maintained grassy area to camp behind a family home and learn more about sugar cane farming with paid tours available while staying. They are a working cane farm and have areas available for all sorts of setups. Located 50 minutes from Mackay, this spot is the perfect relaxed family stay and very affordable too.
We enjoy farmstays because of their relaxed vibe, friendly owners and learning experiences for children. We'd happily return to all of these places and recommend them to friends and families.
