Hello, please tell me how to make a solder that can be used to solder gold to silver!?

So if I was soldering gold to silver I'd just use gold solder to weld them as silver takes more heat to weld then gold . If you tried to use silver solder the gold might melt well before the silver solder flows.

How much is to solder a piece? Wholesale and retail? I work at a store Here in Orlando , FL . Retail here is about $25.

That's what I charge for basic chain welds. If it's hollow Franco chain or little more complicated $30.00.

​@malikhussnain6709 yep same as retail price of gold it's hard to do it less than that unless you want to lose money. Your doing cheap already many Your named stores like zales charge up to $40.00 a weld don't be on a race for the bottom if Hell I'm confident I could charge them $40.00 a weld and they would still use me mainly cause they trust me and know my work after 30 years I've learned the relationship is worth more than the price $25.00 a weld is fair for them and you.

@ well here Im an apprentice also . Our jeweler charge $13 . And retail goes $25 to $30. But apparently people still have not comfortable paying. There is a flea market about 15 miles from our store that charges $10 retail ( i know its crazy) . Gods knows what solder they use . It looks ugly and black. But people happy with that.

​@@malikhussnain6709yea I use plumb solder always they are probably not using plumb solder and it will turn dark or black in a hurry you get what you pay for in Jewelry Repair if it's not plumb solder it's a lower karat like 6k or 8k not good........ I could do that to but your pieces will look like shit and in long run you lose customers. Use plumb solder don't race for the bottom in long run your work will look better and people don't mind paying for quality solder and work good luck G.
