A nice alternative to the focus of your other work. If you continue with additional content, I recommend some map content for the viewer to get a feel of where some of them many islands and straights are located. Good work!!

Thanks mate. I will have a look at that if I do more of these.

Losing a corpsman (pharmacist mate) is a big blow to morale. When I was in there was one independent duty corpsman per boat (sub) and anytime a medic is lost…..it hurts. Great video

I was a pill roller back in the 20th century. Wish I could have stayed in, but they didn't invite me back because of Health reasons. Oh how I wish I could have been retired at 37 or 47! 😅

In the past, I've spoken to many, many WW2 vets, all Infantry, who fought in different theaters of operations during the war. And no matter what horrors they witnessed during the war, every one of them was glad they never volunteered or were drafted into the Navy, because of these types of horror's that a Sailor might one day have to endure.

Ain't a ship. Subs are _boats._

If I may offer a small bit of constructive criticism; contrary to standard definition, submarines are known as _boats._ Counterintuitive, I know, especially if you are familiar with common nauticalisms, but the tradition of calling submarines "boats" dates back to their early days when they were small, simple vessels. Submarines were often carried by larger ships to their destination, and the term "boat" fitted their size and portability. *Tradition!* 😅 as we say in the fire department, decades of tradition largely unimpeded by progress! 😁 _Former Corpsman, Firefighter, current Medic & Disabled Veteran_

Thanks for the clarification and for your service. I think I did call them boats in there somewhere along with 3 or 4 other descriptions.

There was a US sub that was lost on her first patrol but was missing before even getting fully to the war zone. No Japanese records either. It was believed the sub had a mechanical failure and just sank. i can't remember the name.

USS Dorado.
@GermanShepherd19838 күн бұрын
@@JumperSig That's not the one. Dorado was sunk by a US patrol plane by mistake in the Caribbean. The one I'm thinking of happened in the Pacific after she left Pearl. No Japanese records of a sub contact in the area it was in and really wasn't even fully in the war zone.

Your pronunciation of many works in this video are horrible. Groton, Bow, etc all pronounced wrong.

I'm deaf so I'll have to take your word for it. It's a video I recorded when I first started and I have improved the quality of the narration a lot since then.
