This piece is called "Three weddings and a fight", and is based on three (very beautiful) traditional wedding tunes from Denmark. The idea is that each tune is played first in the man's version (more or less like the original) then in the girl's version.
In the first wedding, he is young, good looking and care-free, and she is young and beautiful too, but she is a dreamer and her version is very free and floaty.
Short musical interlude, reflecting on the marriage.
In the second wedding, he is a peasant farmer, healthy and heavy, but not very bright, and without humor. She is more from the city, much lighter, and likes to dance and have fun. Her version is like a mockery of his. Not sure how long this marriage will last...
Short musical interlude.
The last wedding gets off to a very bad start. As soon as the man starts to speak, she interrupts him. And when she speaks, he interrupts her. Soon the family members take sides, and a heated argument turns into a fight, with broken chairs etc
But suddenly, a happy end!
