More wizard! I once had a player wish that all players were mad they were caveman, and couldn’t say words of more than 2 syllables, or might be executed. Cost: the Wizard was under the opposite effect, and HAD to use huge words. Hilarious game, especially because I, the storyteller, also spoke like a caveman

3:38 so many STs don't do this simple check when crafting a bag with Widow / Spy in play. Love that you agree with me that "wants to die at night" characters just Don't work with "sees grim" characters.

I would argue that they can. If widow poisons farmer, and farmer dies at night, farmer can potentially confirm poisoning. If farmer lives for whole game, farmer can reasonably confirm widow ping, or demon just got lucky. If farmer dies at night, farmer can confirm a likely lil' monsta, since a player-controlled demon would avoid them.

Wizard is such a great character, so it's all good to have another game with it! But if you want to change it up, then may I suggest doing a game with the Vizier? It might be the most underused minion. I can only think of 2 recorded games using it: - the official BOTC stream - NRB

Regarding the Plague Doctor Widow ability: First, since there is no jinx, the Storyteller will pick someone to poison and gets to see the grim (which they already can!) Second, because a good player already knows that there is a Widow in play, a new ping shouldn't have went out. New Widow pings are only given out if the player who knows a Widow is in play becomes evil, because then there is no _good_ player that knows about the Widow.

Wait, how would alchemist marionette work? They are the alchemist, a good character, but the marionette ability says "you think you are a good character, but you are not".

@@whocares2277 the Alchemist gets a minion ability, but remains the Alchemist. They would just be the marionette and their minion ability wouldn’t function. E.g. an Alchemist Psychopath who is actually the Marionette can’t kill anyone due to the Psychopath ability. That’s an extreme example and I wouldn’t recommend doing that in a game - giving them a less traceable ability would make more sense.

@checkchecquers good question! I think so, but a lot of it came down to social trust on that last day too. Howezy as the Politician took any world people were building (e.g. Mia's world where JC was the Demon), and filibustered enough to get executed. Ultimately not every game is going to be 100% solvable, and some stuff needs to come down to social cues - that's the beauty of Clocktower.

21:04 This is 100% false info. Jugglers, like Gossips, make statements during the day and then their ability looks backwards at those statements the following night. It doesn't matter in either case whether the character is droisoned during the day, only the night their ability acts. Also there are *many* instances where droisoned characters still cause reminder tokens to be placed: A drunk Po charging, a poisoned Pixie learning the wrong character, any character that uses a once-per-game while droisoned, just to name a few examples.

I feel like you should have given a greater cost to the first Wizard Wish. Created 3 Wizards, and Extra Politician, Drunked roles, all with no cost. Usually I enjoy your videos, but this was just hard to watch as the Good Team basically had no chance.

That's partially on me (the 1st wizard). When i thought about "haha, funny, doubles of a bunch of roles", i also immediately thought of how it would confirm all the good players to each other, so i made my wish really convoluted - that must not have been the easiest to run, either. But I didnt expect the wizard to multiply (imagine, D1 mia falsely claims a widow ping, and two people having actual widow pings. Hell will break loose)! I like what my teammates did, though, and am glad for JC's wish to ensure the polis' fun, the evil team was worried about a "too bad, so sad" there. And it seemed like people enjoyed the shenanigans and we had a real good chat after the game, so it's a win for everyone :D

Love ya Arif, but yeah, "Another wizard game" was exactly my reaction. I'm watching it anyway, but I have yet to watch a good wizard game and i follow you , kinky, and TPI. Its just too random and arbitrary, and it goes against the "solvable" nature of BOTC. But, if everyone else enjoys, you do you. But personally, I think wizard is the worst role in the game, even including butler.
