Even though Adam has left TDG, the band still stays faithful to the punk-rock style that I've always admired. True, Adam's songs were truly emotional and tragic, and personally, Life Starts Now or One X are my favourite(s), but there's no denying in that this album, has maintained TDG's fame of being punk-rock, and even reflected the traditional melody and rhythm of their older albums. Great band.

Matt was in a band called My Darkest Days before he became the leading member of Three Days Grace. He was in Darkest Days from 2005 to 2013. If you note in those videos, Matt's voice is soft and calming, and he has short, bleached hair. He sings and plays along with his band to create a unique identity for each song. Here in Three Days Grace, Matt just feels like he is copying Adam, and every song is just so simplified. Adam, Barry, Neil and Brad made their songs chemically complex. Each song was crafted to be different. To tell stories that reflected on the band's lives, mainly Adam's life. With Matt here, he forms a story to the songs and albums, but everything else just feels so simplified. Edit in 2022: I got this information from a video regarding Matt trying to be Adam's replacement. I think most of it clicked because Matt dyed his hair black and let it grow long like Adam's, he started getting raspy with his voice, and he kind of dressed like him regarding the leather jacket and cool black outfits. They used a video from My Darkest Days where Matt was singing softly, and he didn't look like he was trying to fit in at all.
