This was one of my most memorable catches I have made in my life! I caught this Thresher shark on fairly light tackle. This is a very rare specie of shark. The thrasher shark kills his prey with his long tail, a truly amazing creature and to Catch such a beautiful shark land based was a very special moment for me!

Lekker man, here in Namibia we also get threshers off the beach. My only experience with one was when I was going for big bronzies. I fished with a 2m FM trace 220lb leader and used a 3kg kob's head (only the head) for bait. When I hooked the shark it was more out of the water than in and after 30 seconds it hit off my leader with its tail.

Haha, I also have the first GoPro Hero HD and used to record when I did track driving and also had moments where I recorded off track and pressed stop going onto the track! :)

You must be one of the very few anglers in the world to ever catch a thresher shark from the shore. You normally catch fish like that when you least expect it. You spent years chasing specimen fish with little success. Then they turn up. Superb catch.

First choice wpuld be an assin horizon zero xxh otherwise if that is too expensive look at the assassin solar xh or equinox xh both have the same blanks...the solar just have better components

@@roberthoward8649 they do in the colder waters but they don't move up north like the bronze whalers do after the sardines...the will stay in the colder waters more south and feed on the sardine, anchovies and squid.
