Still one of my favorite songs to date. It gives me chills how smooth and yet manacing it sounds throughout, before rising to a cacophony for the outro

I have sung this song to my daughters since the day my first girl was born. It is contempt and pain. But also truth and hope. This album is different, but is the best of Thrice.

Lyrics : All you great men of power, you who boast of your feats Politicians and entrepreneurs Can you safeguard your breath in the night while you sleep? Keep your heart beating steady and sure? As you lie in your bed, does the thought haunt your head That you're really rather small? If there's one thing I know in this life We are beggars all All you champions of science and rulers of men Can you summon the sun from its sleep? Does the earth seek your counsel on how fast to spin? Can you shut up the gates of the deep? Don't you know that all things hang, as if by a string O'er the darkness, poised to fall? If there's one thing I know in this life We are beggars all All you big shots that swagger and stride with conceit Did you devise how your frame would be formed? If you'd be raised in a palace or live out in the streets? Did you choose the place or the hour you'd be born? Tell me what can you claim? Not a thing, not your name Tell me if you can recall Just one thing not a gift in this life Can you hear what's been said? Can you see now that everything's grace after all? If there's one thing I know in this life We are beggars all

Lyrics are true. Be a free spirit. Don't let this world control you. Every man an women, is losing. This world, this as its sits. We're on repeat. Thanks, I've been listening to this album, and u thrice. over the years. This song still sticks to this modern day. Consequences and sufferings, if we don't wake up and rrlize the truth.

Feels like the world will always be asleep... Songs like this should be super popular instead of the stupid promoted stuff. But, the consequences of short-sightedness/arrogance/selfishness, brainwashing + shallowness, etc. (generally, of just not using your brain right), are countless.

We like being underground thrice always was
@hawkstrike184 жыл бұрын
@@drtubbs530 tbh I've thought about this a bit more. Many ppl choose to listen to certain kinds of artists because they want to belong, and not because they truly love the sound and lyrics. It doesn't matter if one prefers mainstream stuff or underground, if they are being (insecure) posers they're just that. Hopefully most ppl truly connect with their favorite music tho. Different personalities choose different stuff (lyrical content too), I guess, and judging one only by the music they listen to is sort of a dick move, usually. Not everyone has a passion for searching music thoroughly to find what suits them the most for real, too. They just cling to the easiest-to-be-found shit they like and roll with it... It is quite shallow but hey.
