I love how this actually portrays Icarus as a child. In most pieces of Media, Icarus is seen as a young, selfish man who wanted more than he was allowed to get and payed the ultimate price for it. But this, from the POV of the father, really showed that this was Icarus’ first taste of anytbing but prison. He was a young boy who got excited with his newfound freedom

Now go listen to The Melting Point of Wax by this same band. It's more from Icarus's point of view. Lol you will feel much better. That's more heroic sounding, this is more tragic. But still beautiful. Thrice is really good.

It’s a Greek myth. I recommend you check out the myth. It has an explanation behind this song and doesn’t show as much emotion, but is still a great story

@the4realeddie there was an entire book? i was only aware of it as a mythological story. . . not only did he challenge the Gods/Laws of Physics. . . but i think the main principle of the story is that he exceeded his own laws. . and disregarded, heeding to his father's pleads for his own safety. . :/

@killiotta1 I share you powerful emotions but Icarus is way too judged, you should see Icarus as a man who tries to defy gods, and thus is sent to his death. You should read the book before speaking so harshly about a legend...There is "an Icarus" in all people who try to do something good and change the world against all odds ;), give it a thought and read the book.
