Why is it, every song made and performed by THRICE, makes me feel at that moment. This particular song is by far their best work, and the best song ever........? Then i start the next song.... Seconds later, i now believe this is their best work lol. INSANITY

Thrice has always surprised me as a band. From the hardcore riffs sprinkled into their punk era, to the brilliant lyrics and ahead-of-its- time quality of The Artist in the Ambulance. I always hear haters saying this album is when Thrice changed for the worst or "got soft" and had to come here to see what they meant. Quite honestly I'm loving this album and I'm digging Water over Fire on the first listen. I'm not sure why that surprises me, Dustin's lyrics have always favored water and my favorite track has always been See You in the Shallows. I can totally understand genre-centric fans not liking this because it's not like the first three albums, but I have but respect for Thrice and have to say that it takes courage and a lot of forward thinking to create something like this album. The Water Index gives me heavy Tales From Topographic Oceans vibes, which tells me they're doing it right.
