My favourite song of the year and probably my favourite album as well.

I first listened to this song a little after my grandmother passed, so I associate that period in my life with this track. I think this whole album was fantastic, but this particular song resonates with me on a deeper level. The tone and the way it blows up and escalates at the end, the bass. Its like a period of a week for me captured in 5 minutes.

This has to be the best song on the album.

Dam takes me back to when I was a teenager stoned in my room with black lights and stars all over my room. The whole world ahead of me. I wish I knew that little again. I wish I was that hopeful again

Sort of late to the party, yet there is a Drumeo video where the drummer from Billy Joel plays a Deftones song...and it is kinda awesome.

Sometimes it feels like my life depends on your music. It's woken me up and I hold it very dear to me. Thank you thrice for such a beautiful picture in your music. You're part of why I made it through returning from darkness to light. Music speaks to me in so many ways and I thank you for the beauty in your art.

Been listening to these two songs and am thinking: Still Life: Man who has a dark past he is trying to come to terms with. Dandelion Wine: Man who is distracting himself with simple pleasures to prevent addressing deeper issues. Still figuring out the stories for the other songs and the album in general. What are your guys' thoughts?

Very interesting, and I agree. It seems like he is remembering his past while romanticizing certain parts of it at the same time, with the "Half remembered truth, or lie." He making up grandiose things about his past to compensate for the wrong things he's done. But the, "The weight of it (the axe) is dear to me" is saying that he still loves his past and wrongdoings, as dark as they are, because they made who he is. That's what I gather.

This.. This is what I enjoy from music. You have limited lyrics, but it speaks. The instruments have control of this song and it's amazing.
