Urhm , you know.. when you don't have the elastic thing .. you can use used mask strap. And it will work just like a elastic :)

Well you can use and stretchable hair tie inside it

Next time you make these, if you sew your "tube" inside out and then flip it back before you put the elastic in it will give you a cleaner edge :)
@TashaLeelyn5 жыл бұрын
Agreed!! Thank you for the tip lovely!
@StellaMariaGiulia5 жыл бұрын
I was going to suggest this as well 😊 also if you do the same to the tie it won't fray
@SA-uj2gx4 жыл бұрын
Tasha Leelyn also if you use a hair elastic sew the ends together first then place in the hair tie and fold over the edges and sew between to make them look neat that’s how I make mine also thank you for the tail tutorial I couldn’t figure that one out

I love this idea! I have all of my abuelita's apron and pillowcases, now I have something to do with them. Such a sweet way to reuse some family hand-me-downs!

I so appreciate the fact that you're being mindful of what you're repurposing from the thrift store. So many people are just on a treasure hunt with no regard for longevity of what they're trying to recreate or the additional waste they might create. Loving it, Tasha!

Love this so much. It's so cool to be able to make something unique, and it's great that you suggested using 'less desirable' fabrics rather than cutting up a dress that someone could still use. They look so cute.

Is the scarf part not going to fray? What do I do if the fabric I’m going to use frays easily?
@krystalobrien86225 жыл бұрын
What a cool way to reuse fabric. You should make these for the shop! It'd be awesome if you made a bunch and sold them as a charity event. I'd buy one.

I love this! I just in the last week went shopping for fabric at the thrift store for handmade scrunchies! I found 2 huge leopard print scarves for $1 each and a black stripe dress and a black polka dot dress for $1 each! I also found a couple cool sweaters for $1 each! I enjoyed the video! ❤

Yes, yes, yes!!! Loved this video and love the idea of you doing thrift flip videos! ♡I've had this idea for quite awhile of taking inspiration from clothing pieces I love (I've been cutting out and saving items- clothing, accessories and jewelry- from my favorite line, Sundance's, catalog) and "Frankenstein-ing" cool new pieces from thrift stores finds. I think it would be really exciting to see you do a series like that!♡ Love you!

I’ve been trying to make my own scrunchies and I could cut the fabric and turn it inside out, but I have the hardest time closing it. I’ve tried folding both ends and putting one inside the other, but it ends up getting difficult for me to sew all around the closing. Once I’m underneath the hair tie and pretty much half way through, it’s confusing where the closing is and I end up not sewing both sides or end up sewing other parts of the scrunchie together. I’m hand sewing all of this cause that’s what I have at hand right now and I really don’t want to use glue, as I personally, don’t trust using fabric glue, I rather sew it. If anyone could help me or give me some tips, I’d very much appreciate it. I would love to try this diy once I get a hand at this. Thank you very much and I hope you all are well. Best wishes! 🌻♥️✨
