Rotary cutters are great but be sure to get the cutting mat too. It will slice up your table or your floor if you don't use the mat. (cardboard doesn't make a good cutting mat, it dulls the blade) Also I find a metal yardstick is very helpful to cut straight lines.

On tag colors: tag colors indicate when the item was put in the store. I don't know if you noticed, but the colors on that sign could be moved. Most places do their colors seasonally, so every 3 months they change which color they're tagging with. And then the items that have been in the store the longest can all be discounted at once without having to go through and re-tag stuff just by changing the colors on the sign.

If you're sewing a patch on a sweater, placing the section in an embroidery hoop might help keep it still. It also helps to try and keep from sewing the back layer too.

My favorite section at thrift stores is the dress section because I'm always looking for dresses with full skirts and if I find one, I buy it no questions asked. I LOVE full skirts. By the way, one thing that I've figured out is if you don't want to try pants on, you can line up the seams of those jeans to your pants, and they should fit pretty nicely.

make sure to change out the rotary blade after a month or so depending on use. They tend to dull quickly but are way better than scissors.

Sewing pro tip: also get a rotary cutter pinking blade. it will help prevent some fraying with fabrics.

The waist band trick works if you don’t have think thighs like I do, if it fits your neck it may fit your waist almost perfectly but it depends on you body shape if they actually fit
