Those are used for washing clothes. I had one in my booth at Christmas. Put a screw in the top and hung a Christmas wreath on it.

Keep the plungers! You would move them in a rapid up and down motion to wash your clothes in a metal tub!

The long thin dishes are very unique- I’ve never seen that type before but I hope someone has and will tell us if it’s an olive dish. You’re probably correct, that’s what it looks like.

My grandma had me plunge the clothes with one of those plungers back in the 60's and 70's when we vacationed in their off-grid vacation house. I love the olive trays and think they could look great with small colorful glass Christmas balls.

Great haul!! You said your chickens slow down in the winter. Chickens need at least 10 hours of light. We used a timer and a heat lamp when daylight savings time started. Taste better when they can graze and eat bugs. I’m thinking you would agree. Looking forward to seeing your booth at Cranberry Feast.

Can you imagine how dingy your clothes would be using metal agitators such as that. I think they were used in the early 1900s.

I just learned that the plungers are used to agitate clothing, towels, etc. when hand washing laundry in a big tub. I also learned that they must be hand dried after each use to keep them from rusting out. Not knowing the history of the two you purchased, they may no longer work for their original purpose.
