Hi Emma! I absolutely never have any luck with thrifting but am always happy for those folks that get lucky with it. Maybe that will be you on your next record hunt. ✌️

Hi Emma, this trip seems very similar to some of my last thrift shop stops! I even just found out that one record I bought (even though I held it up and checked it out) is completely warped... I thought it was just because of light weight flimsy vinyl, but I was wrong. At least I only paid .25c for the record. I do like seeing some of the unique records people see on their own flips. Cheers, Darryl.

6:45 Our local record store in Pueblo, CO went out of business - AGAIN! (There is another down by the Riverwalk which is hanging in there, but it's more of a vintage pop culture store, than a record store.) This is actually a good area for Jazz collectors, not so much rock or pop, for those who may be passing through Pueblo and surrounding areas. I'm the only one who cares about records south of Colorado Springs. In fact, some antique stores have such disdain for records, especially 78s, which is my specialty, I'll get then really cheap, especially if the greedy owners aren't there. The employees will charge me $3 for a bunch of records, cassettes, 8 tracks and 78s which have been there for so many years. There were some really good titles in the antique store of yours. I can't believe you passed on some of them: Foghat, Edgar Winter, etc.... maybe since they were individually priced, way too high. Some stores who get anal retentive on things like that tend to be very greedy and they usually don't know what they are doing. I went into the overpriced Goodwill the other day and picked up a really nice copy of Starland Vocal Band's self titled album from 1975 for $3. (In fact, EVERY record of all sizes and conditions are $3, no matter if its a 45, 78 (rarely do they have any) or 33 - all $3. Therefore, it's rare anyone buys anything.) Of course I am old enough to remember being tortured with Afternoon Delight on the radio that entire year and into '76. But it's a REALLY good album, if you can find it. Afternoon Delight is actually the weakest song on it. It's strange to think there could have been two or three other singles released that could have at least gone top 20. It's too bad for them. YT recommendations brought me here this morning and I'm subbing.

Appreciate your comment and for checking out this video - thank you! Yes, third store was individually priced and either scratched up or wrong record in sleeve, overly priced, etc. Most of the ones from that antique shop have been sitting for years because of it. I’ve done extremely well with Goodwill in the past. The one near me, all records are $1 regardless of title, and I’ve been able to find some great stuff. Just haven’t been lucky the last couple years. It all depends on timing. Again - thanks for the sub!

This video made me chuckle! The last time I went to the thrift store I hit a small "honey hole" as I call it. Honey Holes are hidden caches of records at the thrift stores. It's a coin flip on whether or not you hit it big! Here is what I got last time I was at the thrift store: Crazy Eyes - Poco Loggins & Messina Self Titled Windham Hill Records Sampler 82 (This is a random label I stumbled on from another thrift store blind buy. Any time I see something from this label I buy it.) Holiday - America Opening Night - Kevin Eubanks (Really fun sounding Jazz record) Nashville City Limits - Various Artists (has Bobbie Gentry, Charlie Rich, Jody Miller, Sonny James, Ned Miller, Joe Stampley, Bilie Jo Spears, Roy Clark, Melba Montgomery, and Faron Young) Space Traveler - James Vincent (This one is hard to describe just go check it out. Super funky, out there borderline Prog at times) Phoebe Snow Self Titled Windows and Wall - Dan Fogelberg Twin Sons of Different Mothers - Dan Fogelberg & Tim Weisberg

Thrift store action in my neck of the woods has dried. If you do find something they want 10-15 dollars. The days of the dollar records maybe gone. I saw a few in the antique shop i might have looked at. If the price was right. Thanks fir taking me along fir the ride :).
