I love the way Arne modernizes these old needlepoint canvases and gives them new life. I’d love to see a whole episode where he shows us how he design and picks the colors and background pattern to work with the original motif.

Im so proud of Arne finishing the projects he buys, As a lot of people just collect and never finish.

It's good to see projects being finished, and sometimes in unexpected ways. The question I have is, does Arne finish all the projects, or is he slowing building up a stash of projects others have started.

Thank you for taking us along with you on your thrift store visit. I love the idea of Arne "saving" unfinished projects and giving them a new life. Wherever the lady/ladies is/are who started them, I'm sure she/they will be pleased!

Loved that visit to the thrift store! How well maintained and organized the shop is; that demands a huge commitment. Arne, maybe you and Carlos will do a session to verbalize how you plan new background designs for the found pieces. How you determine the shapes, colors and whether you design as you stitch or put it on paper or computer first. I, for one, would love to hear you talk through your methodology. Both of you have such multifaceted talents. Well done today. Thank you for the glimpse into the village. You are appreciated!

My mother was an seamstress, taught me to knit & great with crafts. When we were selling items from house after my parents had both died, a stranger asked me if we had any unfinished embroidery for sale. We happily gifted it to her, pleased that my mother's work would be cared for by another. I really enjoyed & appreciated this episode 💖. Reminder of my darling Mother

Especially enjoyed this video - haven't thrifted or been antiquing since Covid, and I forgot how much I missed it! Old needlework supplies, patterns and UFOs are my favorite thing to look for (pretty dishes are second). I'm sure the dead old blind lady would be thrilled to know her precious UFOs went to someone who appreciated and will finish them. ♥

I remember thrift shopping every week. I started collecting crocheted pieces of lace. Then one day I found “The Lord’s Prayer” which had been crocheted and was probably used on the back of a chair, just safety pinned in place on the top of a recliner. Someone spent hours making this piece. I took it home… $5 find! I had it framed by some friends. So, Arne, I get this passion for old crafts🥰 I see her weathered hands crocheting this piece for her home. Cheryl

Hey, Arne and Carlos!Don't assume the work was not done by a talented man. The best needlepoint I have ever seen was stitched by men. A famous American Football player, Rosie Greer, always won multiple prizes at the annual Los Angeles shows. In the 1980's, a lot of 'aerospace' men were laid off and several began to attend the workshops at local shops. They were masters at reading charts because they had written so much of the early computer coding and programming. I know a local man who works 5 hours a day at needlepoint that has such tiny stitches the completed piece looks as if it were a painting. Don't sell yourselves short. Just look at the creative juxtaposition of those soft cats basking amongst spiky hounds' teeth. Genius!

I just love watching you two and so glad you let me share in your day. Arne thats the first thing i do when i go to second hand stores, right for materials for doing my crafts, its so much a part of me and what i like. I recently started making a sew as you go quilt and started sewing it together today. About 5 or 6 years ago i made crazy quilts for each of my 5 daughters and mother for christmas. It was more like a memory crazy quilt because i put pictures and jewlery on them as well as beads and embroidery. I put a sleeve on them so they could hang them up. I love the white one and blac one you two made and often go back to watch those again. Love you take care

I'm watching this video for the second time! I know that look of glee you have on your face Carlos, when you reveal the needlework piece. I get that same feeling! But I have so many projects that I've banned myself from thrift stores! I create totes and bags and What I've done with partially completed cotton pieces with stamped embroidery is use the piece in the front of the bag as a focal piece, along with doilies, etc. the buyer can complete the embroidery or keep it as it is, because it's beautiful just as it is. Love your videos Carlos and Arne, and watching them makes me feel close to my grandmother as her parents immigrated from Norway and she did all the crafts you two do. 😀
